Gareth Southgate doesn’t have a particularly big squad at his disposal, and he could be one player lighter by the sounds of it. It’s refreshing to hear of a young player wanting to have first-team football every week, someone who’s not prepared to bide his time on the bench every week waiting for an opportunity.
