Joe Kinnear Claims He’s Been Offered Newcastle Job But Club Say Complete Opposite!

by Mad Dog and Glory on August 5th, 2009 no comments

This is amusing and a little awkward, like a mad uncle who makes you laugh but leaves you wishing he didn’t smell quite so much. Joe Kinnear is apparently in no way being offered the vacant post at St James’ Park, but don’t let that stop the former Toon Army boss from stating otherwise like a Mad Scientist!

Newcastle have confirmed that they have no plans to bring back Joe Kinnear to fill their managerial void. (Sky Sports)

Surely Newcastle aren’t crazy enough to appoint THIS GUY as manager? On second thoughts…

by stresster on February 12th, 2009 2 comments

Just when you thought things couldn’t get more unbelievable at St James’ Park, the powers-that-be pull another rabbit out of the hat. Why Mike Ashley couldn’t give Sam Allardyce a fair crack of the whip is somewhat puzzling to this day, although after the surprise return of Kevin Keegan and then the baffling appointment of Joe Kinnear, the owner might be about to complete a hat-trick with someone who has flopped quite spectacularly during their managerial career. Will THIS EXPERIENCED MANAGER come to Newcastle’s rescue?

by stresster on February 12th, 2009 no comments

It’s far from clear as to whether Joe Kinnear will return to St James’ Park as manager this season, with the Magpies gaffer set to undergo a heart operation at the end of this week. While Chris Hughton and Colin Calderwood take temporary charge of the first team, the word on the street is that Newcastle will bring in someone with a bit more experience, hopefully ensuring they stay in the Premier League. ‘We won’t be relegated’ claims Newcastle defender: Are they too good to go down or something?!

by stresster on February 5th, 2009 8 comments

It’s still pretty tough trying to call the three teams that will be relegated this season. West Brom have really pulled their socks up recently, while Stoke’s solid home form means that they are definitely not cannon fodder. Then we have the trio of north-east clubs residing near the foot of the table, although there’s one team who are surely just in a false position aren’t they? [Read the rest of this entry »]

“I deserved better from Newcastle” claims Manchester City signing

by stresster on February 5th, 2009 no comments

The above quote could have come from Kevin Keegan around a year ago, when the club were busy drafting in Dennis Wise and selling James Milner to Aston Villa behind the manager’s back. Once again, it appears Newcastle have been lacking in the communication department, leaving this former loyal servant with a bitter taste in his mouth. [Read the rest of this entry »]

Newcastle fail to sign £8 million injured midfielder from Manchester City

by stresster on February 3rd, 2009 no comments

Many of the Toon Army will regard their failure to land this player as a blessing in disguise. After all, with Michael Owen and Obafemi Martins already out injured, the club could do without more star quality on the treatment table for an indefinite period. [Read the rest of this entry »]

Will new Manchester City signing mean Newcastle are relegated this term?

by stresster on February 2nd, 2009 1 comment

Never mind Charles Insomnia, here’s a tale about another player that wanted to leave St James’ Park recently who actually lost sleep over the whole affair. While the Toon Army are likely to wish this loyal servant well as he finally departs Tyneside, could his exit spell the end of Newcastle’s Premier League status? [Read the rest of this entry »]

Wigan splash the cash for £6.5 million Newcastle midfielder: Let’s hope Steve Bruce gets his name right!

by stresster on February 2nd, 2009 1 comment

Shay Given has already started training with new club Manchester City, and now it appears as though Joe Kinnear has lost another of his best players to a Premier League rival. Will the Newcastle manager live to regret getting this player’s name wrong in an interview, or would it not have mattered a jot, with the midfielder wanting to jump ship a long time ago? Newcastle boss clears star keeper for £8m Man City move

by jakepjohnson on January 29th, 2009 5 comments

After weeks and weeks of speculation it appears that Newcastle United ‘manager’ Joe Kinnear has finally admitted defeat.

The media have both been speculating about the future of both of Newcastle’s long-term goalkeepers Shay Given and Steve Harper. With Harper signing a new three-year deal this week, it seems that Given is ready to make a move, with Manchester City sniffing around the Republic of Ireland stopper. Newcastle United manager admits midfield frailties – enter Rangers captain!

by Nick Walsh on January 8th, 2009 5 comments

As we all know by now, Joe Kinnear isn’t one to beat around the bush. Therefore, when he says that his current shortage of midfielders is ‘serious’, you are going to believe him. You are also going to expect him to do something about it.

Newcastle manager all apologies for ref abuse: But should moaning managers be punished?

by stresster on November 14th, 2008 no comments

The Premier League ‘Respect’ campaign is in tatters just three months after the season has started. Sir Alex Ferguson has already been charged by the FA for his rant after Manchester United narrowly beat Hull City, while other managers have shown a similar level of disregard for the men in the middle.
