This is amusing and a little awkward, like a mad uncle who makes you laugh but leaves you wishing he didn’t smell quite so much. Joe Kinnear is apparently in no way being offered the vacant post at St James’ Park, but don’t let that stop the former Toon Army boss from stating otherwise like a Mad Scientist!
Newcastle have confirmed that they have no plans to bring back Joe Kinnear to fill their managerial void. (Sky Sports)
Deluded is the word that will instantly spring to mind when you read what the former St James’ Park man has had to say to the Red Tops!
Joe Kinnear: Talking rubbish!
Just when you thought things couldn’t get more unbelievable at St James’ Park, the powers-that-be pull another rabbit out of the hat. Why Mike Ashley couldn’t give Sam Allardyce a fair crack of the whip is somewhat puzzling to this day, although after the surprise return of Kevin Keegan and then the baffling appointment of Joe Kinnear, the owner might be about to complete a hat-trick with someone who has flopped quite spectacularly during their managerial career. It’s far from clear as to whether Joe Kinnear will return to St James’ Park as manager this season, with the Magpies gaffer set to undergo a heart operation at the end of this week. While Chris Hughton and Colin Calderwood take temporary charge of the first team, the word on the street is that Newcastle will bring in someone with a bit more experience, hopefully ensuring they stay in the Premier League. It’s still pretty tough trying to call the three teams that will be relegated this season. West Brom have really pulled their socks up recently, while Stoke’s solid home form means that they are definitely not cannon fodder. Then we have the trio of north-east clubs residing near the foot of the table, although there’s one team who are surely just in a false position aren’t they? [Read the rest of this entry »]

Never mind Charles Insomnia, here’s a tale about another player that wanted to leave St James’ Park recently who actually lost sleep over the whole affair. While the Toon Army are likely to wish this loyal servant well as he finally departs Tyneside, could his exit spell the end of Newcastle’s Premier League status? [Read the rest of this entry »]
Shay Given has already started training with new club Manchester City, and now it appears as though Joe Kinnear has lost another of his best players to a Premier League rival. Will the Newcastle manager live to regret getting this player’s name wrong in an interview, or would it not have mattered a jot, with the midfielder wanting to jump ship a long time ago? After weeks and weeks of speculation it appears that Newcastle United ‘manager’ Joe Kinnear has finally admitted defeat.
The media have both been speculating about the future of both of Newcastle’s long-term goalkeepers Shay Given and Steve Harper. With Harper signing a new three-year deal this week, it seems that Given is ready to make a move, with Manchester City sniffing around the Republic of Ireland stopper. [Read the rest of this entry »]
