Be warned, Mr Rant Is back in Town

Arsenal Striker Eduardo: Heading for the Olympics?

If he’s not, he damn well should be.

I despise people who dive in matches, so much so that I’d happily shout abuse at one of my own team who decided to take a tumble, and have before resorted to shouting ‘Get up you nonce’ at them down the pub. I thought for once, UEFA had done the right thing by banning Eduardo. People were complaining that he was being made a scapegoat. Too right he was. It was about time someone was punished, and punished heavily. Perhaps a scapegoat is exactly what we need.

With Eduardo’s blatant theatrics against Celtic were simply infuriating. Perhaps Artur Boruc
made contact. In fact, I’m pretty sure having seen the replay that there was contact.
However the contact was so minimal that it wouldn’t have knocked a toddler off his feet
let alone a ‘professional’ footballer. Therefore Eduardo simulated a foul on him. When in
reality, there was never a foul.

Some people would say that the referee is at fault for being so easily tricked. But with
the angle that he was at, it looked as if there had been much more contact than there
had been, so you can’t berate the referee for his mistake. It was a simple error.

My real beef with Eduardo (and particularly with Wenger for actually defending Eduardo)
is that he showed no remorse and maintains his innocence. Eduardo is a role model for
young kids playing football everywhere. What he’s done is advocate the use of dirty
cheating tactics. It’s not on. He should be ashamed of himself and offer himself up as
a sacrifice to the gods. Or in this case, UEFA. The fact that Arsenal appealed the ban
AND won is disgusting and it just shows how the powers that be at UEFA don’t really
care about the use of cheating in the game. These are clearly bleak times.

I just hope if someone dives against Arsenal and gets away with it, Mr.Wenger doesn’t
moan and go on about it. However, with Mr.Wengers track record of moaning like a
little girl when his side have been beaten fairly, let alone when they’ve been on the
end of some bad decisions, somehow I feel he will be the first person to speak up and
complain about the referee and the guilty player.

Mr.Wenger and Eduardo should be banned from the game for a few games, to show
other people who enjoy the odd dive (particularly Real Madrid’s Portuguese summer
signing) that cheats wont be tolerated.

Our latest contributor to COS, Mr Rant, can get a little carried away so if there are any small children reading this, we apologise.

I’m sure they just hate English football.

They’re talking about bringing in the 6-5 rule. They blame the amount of
foreigners in the English game on the national teams poor showing at recent
international competitions. Apparently it’s nothing to do with the lack of team
spirit or quality managers that England had until Capello. I’ve got no problem
with setting a limit on how many foreigners are allowed to play. We had that
rule in England until 2000 or so. But 6 English, sorry, British and the rest
foreign is stupid. I’m a Man Utd fan, and we have enough English players
for it not to effect us, so it’s not just a bitter Arsenal fan ranting out of pure
bitterness, in an attempt to make the numerous inadequacies of the Arsenal
team seem less important.

Italian and Spanish teams have dominated Europe since 2000 or so and it’s
about time the English teams got back to where we should be. But Platini
is bitching about the fact that the four top teams are in debt and until the
debt is paid off, he wants us banned from European competition.

What A Prick

I can’t help but wonder, as he only mentioned English teams, will this rule
effect Real Madrid, who as a club, have a truly monumental debt. Real Madrid
just get lucky because the President can put his own money into buying players.
What about AC Milan? Who’ve recently shown that they have less money than
a beggar on the streets of Baghdad.

Of course it wont.

The English have always been the victim of bias from the European and World
governing bodies. Before you start telling me I’m delusional and paranoid, I have
examples to back my statement up.

Look at when English teams got banned from European Competition because of the
level of hooliganism. Don’t get me wrong, the teams perhaps deserved the ban because
of the moronic few who couldn’t control themselves. The fact is though, when
Italian hooligans, Turkish hooligans, Polish hooligans riot or cause problems, a ban
from competitions isn’t even in the picture. Look at the AC vs Inter game from a few
years ago? Dida gets hit on the head by a flare from the Inter fans. The game gets
stopped and the fans riot. What was the punishment? A few thousand euros and
an order to play the rest of the european games for the season behind closed doors.
What utter bullshit. If that was Man Utd Vs Liverpool and the same happened.
Those two teams would be chucked out of the competition and banned from europe
for a few years. On top of a colossal fine.

Look at Spain too. FIFA are one of the key advocates of the ‘Kick Racisim Out Of Football’
programme, yet when Spanish fans racially abuse Black English players, what is the outcome?
A Fine. A Weak fine. €20,000. It’s sickening that Sepp and the powers that be think it will just
go away without them having to seriously do anything about it. Spain should have been
kicked out of all International and Continental competitions, Club and National teams.
But they weren’t.

So what’s next?

Will England be banned because of the Crowd problems at the recent West Ham vs Millwall
game? Next time Joey Barton decides to smash someones head in, will we get a ban?
Where will the bias against England and it’s clubs and competition stop?

What a load of shit. Sepp Blatter, please fuck off.
