Now however plans are afoot to offer players at cheaper prices to help speed up the process, so that the Spurs boss can then use the funds to bring in much needed striker reinforcements after seeing the likes of Peter Crouch, Jermain Defoe and Robbie Keane fail to make an impact last season, costing the club their place in the top four.

Blackburn Rovers will be keen to snap up Keane having failed to land a number of high profile strikers, the most recent of which being Roma front man Mirko Vucinic. Giovani’s impressive performance at the Gold Cup has attracted the interest of Sevilla who may now be more willing to meet Tottenham’s asking price.

David Bentley has been linked with a move to Norwich City, where the winger spent a season long loan period back in 2004/05, the last time the Canaries were in the top tier. The East Anglia side could however struggle to meet the £10m valuation placed on the 26 year old, so once again Tottenham may have to lower their asking price to achieve a quick sale.

Napoli are said to be interested in Wilson Palacios and Sebastien Bassong has been linked with a move back to Ligue 1 after an stop/start two years at White Hart Lane. Back up performers Alan Hutton, Niko Kranjcar, Jermaine Jenas and Younes Kaboul can also be happily offloaded without making too much of an impact to numbers at Redknapp’s disposal.

It is perhaps a sign of the over indulgence of manager Redknapp that Tottenham can happily sell nine players without such sales making a great deal of impact to the club overall.

Harry Redknapp will want such deals to be done sooner rather than later so that he can prevent the likes of Luka Modric, Gareth Bale and Rafael Van der Vaart from leaving the club who are very much experiencing the down side to speedy success.

The fact that Tottenham managed to superbly complete a top four finish the season before last and then get to the Quarter Final’s of their maiden Champions League voyage is something the club should celebrate but because Redknapp’s men managed a fifth place finish last season, which is still a great achievement given where the club were when the former West Ham and Portsmouth boss took over from Juande Ramos, it seems that some players are even hungrier for success.

Join the Best Football Manager game now, Its Free!

Liverpool to Make £8m Tottenham Playmaker Move as Chase for Charlie Adam Falters

Extra Time

Features

Homepage

Liverpool FC

Premier League

Tottenham FC

Transfer Rumours

liverpool fc

Niko Kranjcar

tottenham

White Hart Lane bench warmer on Anfield radar. Anfield director of football Damien Comolli has earmarked a move for the 26 year old who looks set to leave White Hart Lane after failing to convince boss Harry Redknapp that he is worthy of a regular starting spot.

26 year old Kranjcar arrived at the North London club in the summer of 2009 after he followed Redknapp from Portsmouth to Tottenham. However the cultured midfielder barely had a look in last season and only managed two Premier League starts and saw his first team chances further limited following the arrival in January of Everton’s South African international Steven Pienaar.

Kranjcar is determined not to be stuck on the Tottenham bench and would surely be tempted by a move to Liverpool. Comolli, who used to work as director of football at White Hart Lane, has recommended Dalglish pushes to purchase the former Hajduk Split.

Liverpool have seen their pursuit of Scottish international Charlie Adam go stale and have seen a number of other sides, including Tottenham and Man United, take an interest in the Tangerines midfielder and appear to now prefer a move for the £8m rated Kranjcar.

Liverpool’s new owners are willing to finance further moves for new additions having signed Luis Suarez and Andy Carroll in January and brought in Jordan Henderson from Sunderland earlier this month.

Kranjcar is also being chased by sides on the continent with the likes of Roma, Valencia and Paris Saint-Germain all taking an interest in the Zagreb born flair player but the Tottenham man is thought to be keen to stay in England having spent the last five years in the country where he, his wife and child have all settled.

Join the Best Football Manager game now, Its Free!

Tottenham to Offload 11 In Mass White Hart Lane Clear-Out

Extra Time

Features

Homepage

Premier League

Tottenham FC

Transfer Rumours

alan hutton

Carlo Cudicini

david bentley

giovani dos santos

Harry Redknapp

Jamie O'Hara

Jonathan Woodgate

Niko Kranjcar

robbie keane

Roman Pavlyuchenko

tottenham

vedran corluka

Wilson Palacios

Harry Redknapp plans mass White Hart Lane cull. It is clear that Harry Redknapp has a massive Tottenham squad and failure to qualify for the Champions League will have a knock on effect on the club’s finances, but it is far more beneficial to remove under performing members of the squad rather than having to listen to offers for the club’s top stars.

The likes of Rafael Van der Vaart, Gareth Bale, Luka Modric and Sandro have all been strongly linked with interest from Europe’s elite and Redknapp has steadfastly held his ground by stating that none of those players would be sold, so clearly in order to not have to sell any of his important players, he knows he must cut a swathe of players from his squad that do not offer him a great deal.

Of those on this list from the Independent arguably only a handful would be missed. Those out on loan were clearly on the periphery and the likes of Keane and Giovani have stated their desire to move on. Pavlyuchenko is consistently linked with a move away from Tottenham and the Russian may feel that the time is right to leave after failing to convince Redknapp that he should be a first team regular.

Right backs Corluka and Hutton have shared duties this term but Redknapp has been linked with moves to bring in a new player for that position. Palacios looks a shadow of the player he was last term and Kranjcar, though talented, is not better than those ahead of him in the pecking order.

Join the Best Football Manager game now, Its Free!

Liverpool Plan £35m Premier League Trio Raid: Dalglish and Comolli Look to Improve Anfield Squad

Bolton FC

Extra Time

Features

Homepage

Liverpool FC

Newcastle United FC

Premier League

Tottenham FC

Transfer Rumours

Gary Cahill

Jose Enrique

liverpool fc

newcastle united

Niko Kranjcar

tottenham

Anfield boss prepares for busy summer. Newcastle United full back Jose Enrique, Tottenham playmaker Niko Kranjcar and Bolton centre back Gary Cahill are all on the Merseyside club’s wish-list.

Liverpool are looking for a left back to fill what has become something of a problem position and Dalglish hopes to lure Spaniard Jose Enrique to the club but may have to battle AC Milan for the 25 year old who has decided to keep talk of a new Magpies deal until the end of the season, leaving many to conclude the former Villarreal man may be ready to leave the St James’ Park club.

With two of his centre back contingent, Sotirios Kyrgiakos and Jamie Carragher, over 30 years of age and with Daniel Agger having injury concerns, Liverpool are looking to bring England international Gary Cahill to beef up the club’s defensive options. The consistent Trotters defender is also wanted by both Tottenham and Arsenal and Owen Coyle has reportedly placed a slightly inflated £25m valuation on the former Aston Villa man.

Director of Football Damien Comolli is also interested in signing Tottenham bench warmer Niko Kranjcar. The Croatian international is growing increasingly unhappy at White Hart Lane and after making just two Premier League appearances this season Harry Redknapp may be willing to offload the former Pompey man.

Join the Best Football Manager game now, Its Free!

Tottenham to Conduct Seven Player Clear Out to Secure £35m Transfer Fund Boost

Extra Time

Features

Homepage

Premier League

Tottenham FC

Transfer Rumours

alan hutton

david bentley

Giovani

Jamie O'Hara

Niko Kranjcar

robbie keane

Roman Pavlyuchenko

tottenham

vedran corluka

White Hart Lane boss urged to sell in order to buy. A number of Spanish sides are looking to capture Mexican flair player Giovani, a player who Harry Redknapp appears to see as being something of a luxury he doesn’t feel he needs.

Wolves are apparently willing to meet the £5m asking price for midfielder Jamie O’Hara who has been a big hit at Molineux, helping Mick McCarthy’s side to three wins and a draw in his six starts with the club. Redknapp is known to be an admirer of the youth team graduate but due to the amount of quality players in his position he sees that keeping the player would only hold up the 24 year old’s career progression.

Niko Kranjcar has been targeted by a number of Premier League sides and the Croatian is beginning to run out of patience and may well also be allowed to leave. The 26 year old playmaker has been handed just two Premier League starts and could be offloaded to the likes of Liverpool or Newcastle who are both said to be interested although Redknapp is said to be prefer selling to a foreign club if possible.

Though Roman Pavlyuchenko is the most prolific of Tottenham’s strikers he still appears to not be a first choice starter and the Russian may look to leave the club and his wish will be granted if Harry Redknapp snaps up one of the many targets he appears to be chasing. The 29 year old former Spartak Moscow man has netted 10 goals in 18 starts this term and could be lured back to Russia.

The final piece of the exit jigsaw may will come down to form in the remaining games of this season with the right back berth being battled over by Scottish international Alan Hutton and Croat Vedran Corluka.

Harry Redknapp will consider selling one or the other at the end of this term but appears undecided on the matter. Hutton has predominantly been the first choice but Corluka is seen as more suited to European competition and is also effective at centre back.

Such moves to finance additions will become all the more pertinent if Tottenham fail to secure a Champions League spot.

Join the Best Football Manager game now, Its Free!

Everton And Werder Bremen Prepare Bids For Unwanted £12m Tottenham Midfielder

Everton FC

Features

Football and Soccer

Homepage

Premier League

Tottenham FC

Transfer Rumours

everton fc

Harry Redknapp

Niko Kranjcar

Werder Bremen

White Hart Lane looks for the exit door which may lead straight to Goodison Park. The Croatian international duo have been earmarked by Anfield’s Director of Football Damien Comolli who previously held the same position at White Hart Lane and now hopes to secure a deal to bring both to Merseyside.

Playmaker Kranjcar has been strongly linked with a move away from Tottenham and the 26 year old is said to be unhappy about his lack of first team opportunities and is said to be a target of Newcastle United and a number of sides in Serie A.

The adaptable attacking midfielder has been targeted by Comolli in order to boost the club’s creativity as well as his ability to score goals. The former Portsmouth man may add more natural width as he appears to do his best work when in a wide role where he has most recently been effective as a replacement for injured Welshman Gareth Bale.

Vedran Corluka is a player who Liverpool will look to give the defence more strength in depth. The 25 year old can play as a right back as well as at the centre of defence and whilst youngster Martin Kelly has impressed greatly since his arrival on the scene, he is still clearly a very young player who the club will not want to seen burnt out.

Also given that the likes of Jamie Carragher and Sotiris Kyrgiakos are getting on in years, the addition of another central defensive option would be of great use. Corluka has been a consistent performer for the North London side during his two and a half years at the club but has seen his first team starts limited by the return to form of Scottish international Alan Hutton.

Join the Best Football Manager game now, Its Free!
