Chelsea front-runner ‘interested’ in manager position: Are supporters interested in him?

by stresster on February 10th, 2009 1 comment

Ray Wilkins has become the Blues’ fourth manager in five seasons, and while the man they call Butch will only be in charge for a matter of days, the Chelsea manager’s position is fast becoming a poisoned chalice. Roman Abramovich has shown that he’s not prepared to accept a handful of poor results, especially if it signals the prospect of the club going without silverware. Could help be at hand with this young manager? [Read the rest of this entry »]

‘Chelsea manager should have had more time’ claims midfielder: Do you agree?

by stresster on February 10th, 2009 6 comments

It appears that Roman Abramovich was unsurprisingly behind the decision to sack Phil Scolari on Monday afternoon, with speculation now gathering pace as to who should replace the Brazilian at Stamford Bridge. Clearly the sacking came as a shock to several of the Chelsea players, one of who has told the press that the manager deserved more time at the helm. [Read the rest of this entry »]

Scolari sacked as Chelsea manager! Who saw this one coming?

by stresster on February 9th, 2009 11 comments

Goodness me, two Premier League managers axed in a day! The writing was on the wall for Tony Adams on Monday morning, although nobody expected ‘Big’ Phil Scolari to be sent packing by the Chelsea board. OK, so the Blues have been struggling of late, but even Avram Grant had until the end of the season before he exited Stamford Bridge. [Read the rest of this entry »]

Chelsea players apologise to supporters after latest hiccup

by stresster on February 9th, 2009 4 comments

Although Manchester City are now termed as ‘the world’s richest club’, it’s Chelsea who have the most expensively-assembled squad in the Premier League. However, despite the presence of Nicolas Anelka, Frank Lampard, John Terry and Michael Ballack featuring for the Blues at home to Hull City on Saturday, they couldn’t find a way past a modest City outfit. Indeed, the visitors had chance to win the game, with a couple of players all apologies after a result which effectively rules them out of the title race. [Read the rest of this entry »]

Manchester United manager writes off Chelsea title chances: Do you agree with him?

by stresster on February 9th, 2009 7 comments

My, how the tables have turned. In the eyes of Chelsea supporters, butter wouldn’t have melted in the mouth of Phil Scolari back in September, but a run of disappointing performances and results have left the Blues’ title hopes dangling by a thread. Does anyone think they can win the Premier League title from this position? [Read the rest of this entry »]

Will THIS MAN be Phil Scolari’s replacement at Chelsea?

by stresster on February 9th, 2009 9 comments

Despite Petr Cech’s rallying call last week that the Blues needed to win every league match if they were to win the title, they were unable to find a breakthrough against Hull City. A small section of supporters were disgruntled enough to call for the manager’s head, with Phil Scolari slowly starting to lose all the goodwill generated at the beginning of the campaign. Chelsea need to ‘win every game’ according to goalkeeper: They’ve failed to win ten already this term

by stresster on February 4th, 2009 1 comment

After a 2-0 defeat at Anfield on Sunday, the Blues remain five points off the Premier League pace, having played a game more. Quite simply, they don’t look good enough to win the title this season, especially as they have dropped points in no less than ten league matches already this season. [Read the rest of this entry »]

Will this Chelsea striker finally leave in the summer? It would be no great surprise!

by stresster on February 4th, 2009 2 comments

Ricardo Quaresma has arrived at Chelsea on loan until the end of the season, with Phil Scolari hoping that the Portuguese winger can revive the Blues’ flagging season. There’s little doubt that the 25-year-old has the potential to become a star at Stamford Bridge, and it’s possible that the deal could become permanent in the summer, with a certain striker moving the other way. Have the Chelsea defence started drinking before matches in last few months?

by stresster on February 3rd, 2009 4 comments

Under Jose Mourinho, the Blues were renowned for having a ridiculously strong defence, although the emphasis on rearguard action often came at the cost of free-flowing football. When Phil Scolari became manager during the summer, and subsequently oversaw a strong start from his charges, the ‘experts’ were hailing a coach that had brought about an exciting new brand of football to Stamford Bridge. However, surely there are Chelsea fans now crying out for a return to ‘The Special One’s’ defensive ways. [Read the rest of this entry »]

Is Chelsea forward really on his way out of Stamford Bridge?

by stresster on November 27th, 2008 1 comment

According to the below source, this Chelsea player is going to sprint out of the exit door as soon as the January transfer window opens. This is despite the fact that their headline doesn’t exactly tally up with the quotes that the striker actually makes. [Read the rest of this entry »]

Will Chelsea’s weak home form cost them the title?

by stresster on November 25th, 2008 3 comments

Pundits have been waxing lyrical about the Blues’ performances all season, yet the Premier League leaders are currently finding it difficult to win matches at Stamford Bridge. Never mind that they recently held an 86-match unbeaten record on home soil, they’ve failed to beat Burnley and Newcastle in recent weeks. [Read the rest of this entry »]

Are Chelsea more popular under Scolari than their previous managers?

by stresster on November 11th, 2008 2 comments

While Jose Mourinho did plenty to raise the profile of Chelsea Football Club, he didn’t always go about this in a positive manner. The Portuguese manager regularly created a siege mentality and rubbed plenty of football supporters up the wrong way with his lack of grace in defeat, not to mention constantly reiterating that his team were the moral winners. Will Chelsea swoop for this £30million Manchester City player in the summer?

by stresster on November 7th, 2008 19 comments

The Stamford Bridge club still seem to think that they’re on striker short of a full set, despite having Didier Drogba, Nicolas Anelka and Salomon Kalou on their books. While nobody can say that Chelsea have been short of goals this season, it appears as though they’re keen on this forward, who is making waves at Eastlands. [Read the rest of this entry »]

‘Chelsea lack consistency under Scolari’ claims former Blues manager: Is he talking rubbish?

by stresster on November 6th, 2008 6 comments

John Terry blamed the lack of fight for Chelsea’s 3-1 reversal in Rome, and it was certainly uncharacteristic of a team who have been winning plenty of games in the Premier League this season. This was their second defeat of the season, and one of the Blues’ former managers reckons that the team are not consistent enough under Phil Scolari. What an odd thing to say!
