This is amusing and an incident that may go down as the first of many. Hertha Berlin Peter Niemeyer was attempting, or so he would have us believe, to pat the referee on the shoulder not knowing that her shoulder was in fact not within range and instead it turned out that he just ‘happened’ to touch Bibiana Steinhaus’s right Breast. Luckily she saw the funny side and it was all laughed off as a silly mistake, leaving Niemeyer to plan his next assault that may well involve some misunderstanding when he is tying his boot laces and ‘accidentally’ staring up her shorts!
Tired of referees being too whistle happy and not playing advantage? Well spare a thought for Belgian defender Ken Leemans who scored smashed home a 35-yard wonder strike for Dutch club VVV in their Dutch top division match with De Graafschap at the weekend only to have the Referee blow up for an earlier foul. Fortunately, the relegation battling home side ended a 4-match losing streak with a 1-0 victory. Perhaps next time Holland’s Refereeing answer to Stuart Attwell will wait a moment before blowing up!
This is hilarious, in a violent kind of way. This referee decides to send off a player in this Chilean second division match but for some unknown reason he then objects to the player’s protestations and proceeds to Punch the player full in the face, which unsurprisingly isn’t taken well by the player’s teammates who then all go after the Referee. Then in a scene not unlike when Indiana Jones is chased by an entire army, the Referee then attempts to outrun 20 angry footballers. Incredible. Watch!
Normally these types of incidents are part and parcel of the game in South America but I was surprised to see this Attack take place in the Chinese Leagues. I wonder how long a ban a player gets for physically assaulting an official?
This video will have you in fits of laughter not because attacking an official is an amusing pastime but more for the matter of fact nature of the Brazilian coach who moves from one on field Assault to another in an untroubled calm manner! Insane!
