Juande Ramos is strong odds-on with a number of firms to be the next gaffer to walk out of the exit door, with a certain national team manager rumoured to be first in line to succeed him. When does no actually mean maybe? Perhaps when an opportunity arises to manage a Premier League team for a much bigger chunk of cash than your currently manage a national side. When a manager leaves a Premier League club, the bookmakers are always quick to price up some odds on who his replacement will be. West Ham manager resigns: Who should come in as replacement?

by stresster on September 3rd, 2008 no comments

It looked as though Kevin Keegan was going to be the first Premier League manager out of job this season, although Alan Curbishley has beaten him to it by a whisker. Bilic flirts outrageously with the old firm

by Dexter on March 25th, 2008 1 comment

Slaven Bilic, coach of Craotia and former West Ham and Everton defender has waltzed into Scotland for an International friendly game and started batting his eyelids towards the Old Firm. Although Bilic has again pledged his loyalty to Croatia and has claimed that he wants to manage them beyond Euro 2008 and into the World Cup qualifiers, he still reckons that one call from Rangers or Celtic would have any sane manager sprinting towards Glasgow with the frenzied speed of a doped up sprinter. Bilic said:

“I have said that I want to stay as a manager and I am enjoying my time with the players.

“We have a young team with great young players coming through and all the players can play in the World Cup qualifiers when they start, apart from maybe one or two.

“Therefore I am enjoying my time here and I want to stay if they offer me a new contract which they are probably going to do.

“Scotland does not have the best league in the world but put it this way, there is no trainer or manager in the world who, if called by Rangers or Celtic, would not walk to Glasgow.”

Would anybody be surprised if we saw this chain smoker puffing away in a Glaswegian dugout next autumn?

Anyone blame Bilic for rejecting Fulham job?

by Dexter on January 24th, 2008 1 comment

According to Rupert Murdoch’s latest Internet plaything, Football365, Croatia coach Slaven Bilic turned his nose up at a job offer from Fulham. The ex-West Ham and Everton defender revealed:

“If I was after the money, I would have accepted the first offers that came my way from Mohamed Al Fayed (Fulham’s chairman) and others.

“If I have to explain my position every time I cross the border, no problem. I’ve been to London privately a few times before.”

And Bilic revealed that although he has been travelling to the UK a lot recently, that was merely to check up on the form of some of his young Croatian charges. So Bilic turned down the Fulham job – can anyone actually blame him?
