Everton boss ready to spend spend spend in £40 million frenzy!

by Dexter on August 11th, 2008 12 comments

It’s been a rancid summer for Evertonians. First their CEO resigns, then AJ is sold – only for the deal to be shrouded in doubt for days. Hot on the heels of that, their stadium plans got called in for investigation by the government, and all of this time they hadn’t bought a single player. Compare that with the aura of smugness emanating from the other side of Stanley Park, and no wonder Everton fans are getting more enraged by the day. [Read the rest of this entry »]

No Love from Moscow for Man City

by sub on January 30th, 2008 1 comment

Sorry Mr. Eriksson but it seems that you would get nothing more than cold politeness from Russia and no Love at all. Sky Sports has reported that Manchester City have failed in their bid to seduce the highly rated 23-year Brazilian international striker Vagner Love from CSKA Moocow to the blue half of Manchester after the player publicly turned down the City offer.

Love is quoted by Sport Express as saying:

At the end of last year, there was an offer form Manchester City, but the transfer did not take place because CSKA president Yevgeny Giner did not feel the offer was right for me. I love Russia, I have excellent relations here and I love the club. I am satisfied with everything here. CKSA, in my opinion, is a great club and amongst the continent’s leading teams. I am confident CSKA will just get better and better. If you do go to a new club then you have to make sure your working conditions are better and financially they are no worse.

Looks like Sven-Goran Eriksson has to look elsewhere for a striker. But the January transfer window is shutting down fast so he needs to hurry up.

Wagner Love to Man City?

by sub on January 28th, 2008 1 comment

Wagner Love is a hot property in Europe these days. Earlier this month, the young Brazilian international was said to be on his way to Inter Milan when talks between his club CSKA Moscow and the Italian giants broke down at the last possible moment. Now Tribal football reports that the 23-year old is on his way to the English Premier League and to Manchester City.

The site reports that Man City are launching a £7 million bid for the striker who has been one of the best in the business in Russia for several years. Talks are said to be at the last stages, though we may as well skip that part.

Should the transfer rumour indeed have some material of truth in it and should indeed Love come to the Premiership this month, then he would certainly be a great addition to the flair that we have in top flight English football.
