It’s odd that the joke of a publication would apologise for not knowing that someone “would have preferred her personal information to remain private” as this is essentially what personal information is all about.

Vanessa Perroncel has given her first TV interview following her alleged affair with ex-England captain John Terry, saying she’d like to get back with former boyfriend Wayne Bridge.
The lingerie model told GMTV’s Kate Garraway that “there was never any malicious intention in what I ever did”.
She denied having an affair with Terry, who was stripped of the England captaincy following reports about their relationship, saying that the pair were “friends”.
The model, whose ex-boyfriend Bridge was a close friend of Terry and played with him for England, said of her relationship with Terry: “Friends, we were friends. That’s what we were.”
Asked whether she had had an affair with the married father of twins, she replied: “No, I think I made that clear. I denied that from the start but people didn’t want to hear.”
Asked if Terry’s wife Toni Poole believed her, she replied: “Yes, I believe she did, yes.”
The French underwear model denied Terry gave her money to keep quiet over the allegations, saying: “Absolutely not. I didn’t take a penny from him.”
Asked if she felt guilty about the fall-out from the alleged affair, she said: “I felt like it was getting out of hand, more than guilty. Because like I said, there was never any malicious intention in what I ever did.”
Perroncel said of getting back together with Bridge, the father of her young son Jaydon: “It would be lovely, but you know, Wayne might not feel that way. Whether we get back together or not, you know, crazier things have happened.”

Just when you thought this whole saga had ended the French underwear model has decided to speak out during a much trailed TV interview. Hoping to put the matter to bed once and for all she decided to put talk exclusively to GMTV for a very large sum of money rather than just let it go, as the rest of the world had done.

One wonders if she managed to avoid ‘lying’ about the incident by stating she didn’t ‘have an affair’ with John Terry. It may have been a more telling question to ask if she had any type of sexual encounter with John Terry, then perhaps she would find it a little bit harder to state her well worn case.

The fact that when the story initially broke she decided to not express her innocence and has only decided to take that road once Mr. Slimy himself, Max Clifford, got in on the case. I can imagine that Mr. Clifford would have asked Miss Perroncel if there was any evidence whatsoever that she had any liaison with the Chelsea captain and when it proved there wasn’t, he probably advised her to adjust her stance accordingly.

We here at COS are really not sure why Vanessa Perroncel decided to throw herself back into the spotlight after months of obscurity but if it just so happens that she is back on TV in some other guise, maybe on a reality programme or perhaps she decides to ‘write a book’ then clearly this would be a huge coincidence.

Oh yes, and she wants Wayne Bridge back apparently!

Vanessa Perroncel: the woman, the papers will have you believe, in the wrong place at the wrong bloody time when John Terry got the horn. Ever since ‘Bridge/Terrygate’ broke, you’ve been begging us to feature the 34-year-old French swimwear model at the centre of the scandal that gave England’s World Cup bid the worst possible start. The woman who prompted Wayne Bridge to cross his ex-Chelsea teammate off his list of ‘people he’d invite to Nando’s’. The woman who can’t possibly be to blame for Wayne Rooney playing like a donkey. The woman who’s currently suing six different papers for breach of privacy and defamation.

But here she is, in her finery, fronting the Access section of the August issue FHM, on shelves Thursday, July 8. It’s definitely the only place to read her side of the story, which Perroncel told FHM with her skin still shining with the residue of baby oil from the shoot: “I was supposed to have had sex with him five times a week. Now it would be very easy to locate the obvious gaping holes in her story, not least that stating you haven’t slept with John Terry five times a week doesn’t mean you never slept with him. Oh yes, she never bothered to deny the rumour for the best part of three months, that also would make people suspicious. She stood accused of betraying of her former fiancé Wayne Bridge and her best friend Toni Terry.
But now, four months after her alleged affair with John Terry became front page news, Vanessa Perroncel claims it never even happened.
In a new magazine interview, the former WAG completely denies the moral charge sheet against her, insisting her relationship with the former Chelsea captain was only ever platonic.
The 33-year-old, who has a son Jaydon, 3, with Bridge, gave her side of the story to this week’s Grazia magazine.
In the article, journalist Kathryn Knight writes how she went into the interview ‘expecting justification and context’ from Perroncel, but instead got ‘a blanket denial’.
The French brunette told her: ‘I had known John for eight years before I met Wayne, and we had always kept in touch – and that’s all it was.
‘What we had cannot be described as an affair, it was a friendship.
‘Not one word of what was written about me was true.’
When asked directly if her relationship with Terry was ever physical, Perroncel replied with a firm no.

According to Grazia, her publicity agent interrupted the interview at the first mention of Terry’s name.
The Max Clifford employee, who was sitting in on the conversation, asked Perroncel to carefully read a typed piece of paper to ‘remind’ her of her position before addressing questions about the footballer.

But she struggled to explain why she didn’t speak up to deny the matter at the time.

She says: ‘It’s easy to say that now but I didn’t know what to say or do when all this came out.
‘I was scared of being tripped up. The whole thing was overwhelming but I’m now suing for defamation and breach of privacy.’
She also addressed Terry’s extraordinary bid to seek a gagging order to keep affair allegations out of the press. The super-injunction was ultimately rejected by a High Court judge.
‘I thought it was the right thing to do, although now I think he should have let the newspapers publish and we could have just sued them,’ she says. ‘Instead the story became the injunction.’(Daily Mail)

Max Clifford may have worked one of his wondrous acts. One can only imagine what “I never slept with John Terry” actually means. It could mean they never fell asleep on the same bed. When dealing with such matters on such a literal level it is actually very easy to avoid ever having to admit to anything. For instance. If you ask someone “was your relationship with X physical” you can of course always say “no”. After all what does ‘physical’ mean.

It seems odd that Miss Perroncel would reply when asked why she didn’t deny the claims in the first place she would state “It’s easy to say that now but I didn’t know what to say or do”. Well what the hell does that mean? If someone accuses you of something that is patently not true surely the first, and most important thing, you can do is say “that is not true”.

Then when asked why then did John Terry seek a gagging order Perroncel says “I thought it was the right thing to do”, once again using some weird brand of logic that makes little or no sense. If someone is about to make claims that are untrue it seems that worst thing you could do would be to a) try to take those people to court to STOP them from saying things that you could then sue them for saying and b) to then not deny exactly what they have said.

Bizarre isn’t a big enough word to describe the latest twist in this rather twisted sordid mess of a story. This will not be the last we hear of this and lets be honest even though we may pretend we are not entertained by it all, we secretly find this all very interesting and amusing.

Vanessa Perroncel celebrated her birthday with an expensive night out in London last night, just a day after winning a child support battle with ex-boyfriend Wayne Bridge.
The French lingerie model, 33, looked chic in a black and white silk halterneck dress at the exclusive Zuma restaurant in Knightsbridge last night.
Her girlie night out came after a court ruled she will receive over £1million in child support payments from Bridge before their son Jaydon turns 18.

Perroncel is said to be ‘over the moon’ after Manchester City defender Bridge agreed to double his maintenance payments from £3,000 to between £6,000 and £7,000-a-month to help her look after their three-year-old son.
The deal was agreed by lawyers at the Family Division of London’s High Court on Friday after two days of legal discussions.
A friend of Miss Perroncel’s told the Daily Star: ‘She is over the moon, she has just found out she has got what she wanted.
‘It’s only money, she never wanted a house or anything, just enough to ensure Jaydon doesn’t want for anything, which is only right.’

Another friend added to the Daily Mirror: ‘Vanessa is very, very happy this is finally over. She did not make any unreasonable demands but feels the agreement takes into account Wayne’s earnings, which add to more than £350,000-a-month.
‘It was her birthday on Tuesday and now she feels like she can have a joint celebration.’

Speaking after the settlement was made on Friday, Miss Perroncel’s spokesman Max Clifford explained: ‘All she ever wanted was a reasonable and fair settlement and for Wayne to stay in touch for the benefit of Jaydon.
‘She is a private person, she doesn’t like a lot of what has been written, she just wants the deal to be private and amicable.’

It was the first time Vanessa Perroncel had faced her ex-boyfriend since the revelation that she had an affair with one of his England team-mates
The former lingerie model was being taken to court by her former partner, the Manchester City defender Wayne Bridge.
He claims that she has been paid up to £800,000 not to talk about her five-month relationship with Chelsea’s John Terry.
At the High Court in London, Bridge’s lawyers argued that the alleged hush money from the disgraced former England captain should mean that their client pays less in maintenance to Miss Perroncel, 33, and their three-year-old son, Jaydon.
Miss Perroncel has insisted she never received any money from Terry.
Terry, a married father of twins, moved in on the former lingerie model last year after she split with 29-year-old Bridge when he moved from Chelsea to Manchester City.
But the fling only came to light after Terry, who is paid £170,000 a week, lost a court battle preventing details of the affair becoming public.
The tawdry revelations cost Terry the England captaincy last month. Among the allegations was the claim that he paid for Miss Perroncel to have an abortion.
After she decided not to sell her story, French-born Miss Perroncel was alleged to have been paid between £650,000 and £800,000 to buy her silence.
But yesterday Miss Perroncel’s lawyers presented all her bank statements to District Judge Peter Greene to prove she had not received any payment from Terry.
Despite this apparent evidence, Bridge would not improve on his offer of £3,000-amonth for Miss Perroncel and their son.
Lawyers for Miss Perroncel and £88,000-aweek Manchester City defender Bridge could not come to an agreement despite an all-day court battle.

A friend said: ‘Wayne earns a huge amount of money – more than £350,000-a-month – and what he’s offering Vanessa and Jaydon is a drop in the ocean for him.
‘She’s not greedy, she just wants a sensible amount of money, in the region of £10,000 a month, so she can properly look after their son.’ (Daily Mail)

Well this story continues to run and run and has now sunk to a new low with arguments over the amount Wayne Bridge should pay in maintenance for his son. I would imagine that the Manchester City man has no problems keeping his son in the life that he deserves but probably would rather that her ex doesn’t in any way benefit from any payment that he makes.

As always it is publicist Max Clifford who comes out of a story covered with more slime than his clients. The idea that £10k a month would be a sensible amount of money in maintenance is quite laughable. Perhaps Wayne could come to an agreement to give exactly that much just as long as Vanessa Perroncel doesn’t touch a penny of it? Maybe she could live in a shed in the garden?

Chelsea captain John Terry says his goal celebration in Sunday’s FA Cup victory over Stoke was a tribute to Blues fans for their support.
Terry has endured a turbulent few weeks following allegations about his private life and lost the England captaincy.
After heading Chelsea’s second goal in a 2-0 quarter-final win, he celebrated by pointing to his captain’s armband.
“The armband means a lot. Chelsea have been supportive. We wanted to show the fans what it meant to us,” said Terry.
Terry was booed throughout Sunday’s tie at Stamford Bridge by the visiting Stoke supporters, who lambasted the 29-year-old over his alleged affair with Vanessa Perroncel, the ex-girlfriend of former Chelsea team-mate and current Manchester City defender Wayne Bridge.

Terry, who was stripped of the England captaincy by national coach Fabio Capello last month after the allegations came to light, was also barracked by a small minority of home fans during the international friendly win over Egypt at Wembley on Wednesday.
When questioned about the verbal abuse aimed at Terry, Chelsea assistant coach Ray Wilkins replied: “John’s dealing with the situation in the only way he can – committing himself to the cause.
“He’s an exceptional captain and we’re delighted to have him on board. He leads these players on the pitch in fantastic fashion.
“He was taking a bit too much stick from the Stoke fans and wanted to demonstrate that.”
Stoke manager Tony Pulis defended the Potters fans over their treatment of Terry and suggested the defender could win fans over at the World Cup in South Africa this summer.
“Our fans are brilliant, different class,” stated Pulis. “John will have to accept he’ll take stick. (BBC Sport)

John Terry’s name has been emblazoned across the front pages of the tabloids for all the wrong reasons in recent weeks so one can understand why he was so keen to celebrate the footballing aspect of things when he scored the second against Stoke on the weekend and I fully expect the England centre back to come back stronger when all of this dies down.

The Chelsea man appears to have accepted he was in the wrong over his affair with Wayne Bridge’s girlfriend Vanessa Perroncel, and one only hope that Ashley Cole could be quite so honest and accepting of the punishment handed down to him over his extra marital affairs.

Miss Perroncel insisted she was ‘very upset’ about the decision (to quit England) by Bridge, with whom she has a three-year-old son.

Her publicist Max Clifford said: ‘Vanessa is very upset at what Wayne has said and that he has made this decision. She believes it’s the wrong one.’
He added: ‘I’d have assumed that Wayne Bridge and John Terry would have sorted out their differences man-to-man.

‘Can you imagine if we miss out or lose the World Cup because of having someone at left back who isn’t up to it?’

Bridge is due before the family division of Epsom County Court on March 25 for a hearing to decide how much he must pay Miss Perroncel.
He is expected to argue his regular payments for their son should be cut because of her indiscretions.
His lawyers are expected to demand to know Miss Perroncel’s income – including any pay-off from Terry to stop her from selling her story. (Daily Mail)

It is generally accepted in this day and age that if you have transgressed in some way then your best bet is to hire Mr. Max Clifford. In all likelihood he will manage to work his magic and make you out to be the innocent party and perhaps even secure a part in the latest reality television show, the draw back however would be that you would have to spend more than a millisecond in the company of a man who is as slimy and repugnant as a slimy and repugnant slug.

There is no doubting that Max Clifford knows his job but it is a very sad indictment of the society we live in that the job he does indeed do is one that exists at all. Also, what exactly does he know about football, aside from representing any former WAGs looking to make a fortune off the back of their loose affiliation with someone in the public eye. The idea that the publicist (what a title, covers a multitude of sins) could offer an publishable opinion on the Beautiful Game is akin to be holding a seminar on the wonders of making a living out of getting people out of their self dug holes. In other words Max, by all means hold a press conference discussing your client but try to avoid making comments about the potentially tricky area of the left back role in the forthcoming World Cup.

We can all see what you are trying to do, its as clear as crystal that your latest plan revolves around the age old tactic of diverting blame. Vanessa Perroncel is a particularly loathsome individual who has attempted to sleep her way to a place in the spotlight, which she has now finally achieved, after bedding many semi famous people in the process, including most bizarrely the guy from Steps (not H).

Anyway back to the matter in hand. I do think that it was a mistake on Wayne Bridge’s part to pull out of the England set-up, but in many ways I can understand where he is coming from and after all it is a decision that only he can make and one that realistically will only affect himself and no one else i.e. anyone claiming that his withdrawal could cost us a World Cup, in much the same way as Max Clifford has done, is simply trying to fan the flames of this odious stories and doing so without any knowledge of the game whatsoever.

Wayne Bridge is so “devastated” by the scandal surrounding his former Chelsea team-mate John Terry he does not know whether he will even be able to shake hands with him when they play against each other this weekend. Bridge is considering pulling out of England’s World Cup plans because he cannot bear the thought of spending so long with a man he now regards as a sworn enemy.

Bridge has been described as “in bits” by close acquaintances after the revelation of Terry’s affair with his former partner, Vanessa Perroncel, and the Manchester City left-back is sufficiently aggrieved to consider snubbing Terry in the official line-up before the teams meet at Stamford Bridge on Saturday. The former Chelsea player feels irreparable damage has been caused to his relationship with someone he once considered a trustworthy friend. His team-mates at City, as well as his representatives and other friends, have urged him to put on a dignified front but Bridge has told them that he is not certain whether he will be able to in what promises to be an unforgiving atmosphere.

The tensions have obvious ramifications for Fabio Capello ahead of a World Cup in which Bridge could conceivably line up alongside Terry in defence in the wake of Ashley Cole fracturing his ankle. England play Egypt in a friendly on Wednesday and Bridge is said to be “unsure” as yet whether he can actually bring himself to join up with the national squad if it means being in close proximity to Terry.

“People have been trying to persuade him to shake Terry’s hand, even if he doesn’t want to, because the alternative is that he loses some of the moral high ground,” said a source close to the player last night. “But the fact is he simply thinks he cannot go through with it or that he would be lying to himself if he pretended everything was OK.”

The source added: “He doesn’t want to give up the chance of going to a World Cup but the simple fact is that the last few weeks have torn him apart. He is genuinely devastated and he is in that bad a state of mind he doesn’t know whether he wants to go [to South Africa], especially if Ashley Cole is fit again and it means he will spend four or five weeks not even getting into the team.”

Bridge is not a naturally confrontational person and it is understood there has been no contact between him and Terry since the tabloid revelations that led to Capello stripping the Chelsea player of England’s captaincy.

Capello has said Bridge will be included when he names his squad on Saturday for the Egypt friendly and the sense of those closest to the player is that he does not want to walk away from the chance of replacing Cole. However, it has been stressed that there are no guarantees while Bridge feels so strongly. (Guardian)

Whilst its a shame that the sordid affair which dominated the front and back pages for the past few weeks could end Wayne Bridge’s international career, you have to wonder if perhaps the former Chelsea man needs to try to separate on and off field activities for the sake of his own progress.

Having been frozen out at Stamford Bridge the Manchester City man has made a good fist of it at Eastlands and with Ashley Cole out injured this was the 29 year old’s chance to make a case for himself to be England’s number one left back for the upcoming World Cup and surely it would be in his own best interest to just ignore John Terry as much as possible, obviously not on the field of play, and get on with the job at hand.
