Loic Remy (Queens Park Rangers to Newcastle)

The talented French striker has shown good form since moving to the Premier League in January. Unfortunately, his six goals in the second half of the season were not enough to prevent Queens Park Rangers from being relegated. Newcastle were also interested in the 26-year-old in the January transfer window when he chose a move to Loftus Road from Marseille, and the Magpies may move for him again now that Rangers have gone down. He should have a minimum release fee clause of around £6million, which also has Arsenal and Liverpool interested, though they may have bigger targets, and Remy would fit in nicely among the growing French contingent at St James' Park.

19. Franco Di Santo (Wigan to West Brom)

Franco Di Santo will be available on a free transfer this summer after failing to agree on a new contract with relegated Wigan. With the Latics down, the Argentine will be keen on a move back up to the Premier League, and has been linked with West Brom due to their need for a striker. Di Santo could do a decent job of replacing loan star Romelu Lukaku, as well as Peter Odemwingie and Shane Long, who could also both leave the Hawthorns this summer.

18. Peter Odemwingie (West Brom to Hull City)

After embarrassing himself trying to force a move to QPR in January, Odemwingie surely has no future at West Brom, and has been targeted by newly-promoted Hull City for around £3million. The Nigerian is still a decent Premier League striker and would be a good signing for Steve Bruce's side, who he would probably choose over QPR now, following their relegation to the Championship.

17. Nicklas Bendtner (Arsenal to Stoke City)

The out-of-favour Danish striker is certain to be leaving Arsenal this summer after falling out with Arsene Wenger for not being first choice at the Emirates Stadium. Following unconvincing loan spells at Sunderland and Juventus, Bendtner has done little to prove he's Arsenal material, and they will look to raise some money by selling him this year. The tall target man would suit Stoke's style well, and it has been suggested he could be targeted by the club this summer.

16. Callum McManaman (Wigan to Liverpool)

Although Wigan are keen to keep their up-and-coming young winger Callum McManaman, he has been targeted for a summer move by Liverpool, and would surely jump at the chance to leave the newly relegated Latics for a Premier League giant. The 22-year-old is one of several wingers being linked with the Reds as they look to improve on their current options out wide.

15. Scott Sinclair (Manchester City to Liverpool)

Another winger being linked with Liverpool is Manchester City flop Scott Sinclair. The 24-year-old arrived after a good season last year for Swansea, but has barely been given a chance to prove himself at the Etihad Stadium, spending all his games on the bench. This is unlikely to change next season as City will continue to make more big-money signings to their squad, and Sinclair is an obvious choice for one to be sold. The former Chelsea youngster would fit in well at Liverpool and would welcome the chance to play under former Swans boss Brendan Rodgers again, after he got the best out of him at the Liberty Stadium. This looks a likely move and one that would suit both parties perfectly.

14. Victor Moses (Chelsea to Swansea City)

Last season's signing from Wigan has found first team opportunities hard to come by at Chelsea, which is no surprise considering the competition ahead of him. It is thought that the Nigerian will be sent out on loan next season, and Swansea are interested in adding a goal scoring winger to their ranks. After failing to land Moses' Chelsea team mate Romelu Lukaku, they could move for Moses next.

13. James McCarthy (Wigan to Tottenham)

Tottenham are on the lookout for midfielders next season, as they might consider selling the ageing Scott Parker and need cover for the injur-prone Sandro. James McCarthy has been in impressive form for Wigan despite their relegation, and he looks likely to stay in the Premier League next season after emerging as a target for Tottenham. Liverpool, Arsenal and Chelsea have also shown an interest, but White Hart Lane seems the most likely destination for the 22-year-old Irishman.

12. Andy Carroll (Liverpool to West Ham)

A fee of £15million has reportedly been agreed between Liverpool and West Ham to end this long-running transfer saga. It would be fair to say that Andy Carroll has not looked like fulfilling his £35million price tag since joining the Reds from Newcastle in 2011, and now certainly doesn't fit in with Brendan Rodgers' style of play. The 24-year-old has spent the season on loan at Upton Park, looking more at home under Sam Allardyce, though he seems uncertain over whether to make the move permanent. Newcastle have also been linked, as have big-spending French club Monaco, but Carroll would be wise to continue with the Hammers rather than continuing to move around.

11. Yohan Cabaye (Newcastle to Manchester United)

After a disappointing season for Newcastle, they could face the departures of some key players this summer, and Yohan Cabaye has been one of their most impressive performers over the last couple of seasons. Manchester United need a new playmaker in midfield to replace the retiring Paul Scholes, and are rumoured to be lining up a £20million bid for Cabaye. The Frenchman would not be out of place in a bigger Premier League side, and could give United the goals and assists they need from the middle of the park.

10. Micah Richards (Manchester City to Arsenal)

With Bacary Sagna likely to leave Arsenal for PSG this summer, Manchester City's out-of-favour right-back Micah Richards has been linked with a move to the club. The 24-year-old is unfortunate to be down the pecking order at City, but has suffered from injuries and inconsistency this season. He will be keen to be playing more regularly, and he could certainly find his best form again at the Emirates Stadium. Liverpool are also said to be interested, though they would probably prefer to play him at centre-back, which is not his strongest position.

9. Clint Dempsey (Tottenham to Aston Villa)

Tottenham attacker Clint Dempsey came close to joining Aston Villa from Fulham last summer, but he unsurprisingly chose the more tempting move to Spurs. However, after an unconvincing season at White Hart Lane, the US international could be set for a quick exit from the club along with other squad players as they look to rebuild to challenge for the top four next season. The 30-year-old is maybe more suited to clubs like Fulham and Villa lower down the table, and Paul Lambert could reignite his interest in the American again this summer.

8. Leighton Baines (Everton to Manchester United)

With David Moyes leaving Everton and taking over from Sir Alex Ferguson at Old Trafford, Leighton Baines has unsurprisngly found himself linked with Manchester United, following his great form at Goodison Park this season. The England left-back has shown himself to be one of the best attacking full-backs in the game with his ability to bomb forward and create chances for team-mates with his excellent delivery of crosses. The 28-year-old could arguably improve on his defensive habits, but he would also be likely to spend less time defending in a talented attacking side such as United's.

7. Marouane Fellaini (Everton to Manchester United)

Another David Moyes raid on Everton could come in the form of midfielder Marouane Fellaini. The 25-year-old would give United some much-needed physicality in midfield or upfront, wherever Moyes chooses to play him. After his displays this season, he is obviously being linked with several big clubs, such as Arsenal and Chelsea, and he will have a number of options if they all choose to activate his very tempting looking minimum release fee clause of £25million, but he would surely be tempted to reunite with Moyes and have a chance to play for the Premier League champions.

6. Romelu Lukaku (Chelsea to West Ham)

The young Belgian has been in great form on loan at West Brom this season, but doesn't look to have earned a place in the Chelsea first team. Another loan move looks likely for Lukaku, with West Ham showing the strongest interest as they search for a striker in case they do not secure the permanent signing of Andy Carroll from Liverpool. Swansea and Fulham have also been linked with this talented 20-year-old, who bid farewell to the Hawthorns with a superb hat trick against Manchester United.

5. Asmir Begovic (Stoke City to Arsenal)

The Bosnian shot-stopper is a target for a number of top clubs this summer, and Stoke seem to be preparing for his exit with the signing of Birmingham City goalkeeper Jack Butland. The 25-year-old has been one of the Premier League’s best 'keepers this season and it would be a big boost for Arsenal to beat the likes of Chelsea and Manchester United to his signature, especially as they are the most in need of a goalkeeper, due to Wojciech Szczesny's significant dip in form this season. Begovic looked like he'd completed a move to Liverpool just days ago, though these rumours were dismissed, and the Gunners could still get the former Portsmouth man for £15million.

4. Luke Shaw (Southampton to Chelsea)

Manchester United, Arsenal and almost all the big sides have been linked with this terrific Southampton prospect, but Luke Shaw himself has confessed a love for Chelsea, which could make them favourites to sign him this summer. The 17-year-old would be an excellent long-term replacement for Ashley Cole, now 32, and could go on to emulate Cole as one of the best full-backs in the country. He has shown tremendous maturity and ability for the Saints this season and they will not be keen to let him go, but the Blues can afford to offer the kind of money they may not be able to turn down.

3. Hatem Ben Arfa (Newcastle to Tottenham)

Tottenham will have a job on their hands to keep Gareth Bale at the club this summer, with big-money bids expected to come in from both Real Madrid and Manchester United for the double player of the year, but they could find a ready-made replacement in Hatem Ben Arfa. The French winger is a similarly skillful player who can be one of the most dangerous attacking players in the Premier League on his day. Some sources claim talks have already taken place between Spurs and the player, who is another big name considering his future at Newcastle after the Magpies endured a surprisingly poor season fighting relegation.

2. Christian Benteke (Aston Villa to Tottenham)

Another player who may be outgrowing his relegation-threatened team is Aston Villa's Christian Benteke. The Belgian striker has been a revelation this season since arriving from Genk in the summer, and is now wanted by the likes of Arsenal, Atletico Madrid and Borussia Dortmund. Spurs are also said to be interested, and are known to be targeting strikers this summer to replace the misfiring duo of Emmanuel Adebayor and Jermain Defoe. The talented 22-year-old would improve most big sides and would be a great signing if Spurs can pull it off. With Villa keen on Clint Dempsey, a swap deal could be a possibility to push this deal through.

1. Wayne Rooney (Manchester United to Chelsea)

In what would be a sensational move, all signs now point to unwanted Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney joining rivals Chelsea. Chelsea currently look like missing out on their other main targets, with Edinson Cavani going to Manchester City, Radamel Falcao going to Monaco and Robert Lewandowski going to Bayern Munich, meaning they could turn to the England striker to be their long-term Didier Drogba replacement. Bayern had been linked with the 27-year-old, but then denied the rumours, and there aren't many other clubs that could afford his high wages. Although United would rather not sell to another English club, they are certainly not planning on keeping Rooney after some poor displays this season and his submitted transfer request. This would be something of a shock, but it seems ever more likely that it will happen.

20 transfers that could take place between Premier League clubs in this summer's transfer window.

Check in to Transfer Window: Done Deal Alerts

Top Ten David Moyes Man United Summer Transfer Window Targets

Benfica

Carousel Story

Chelsea FC

Everton FC

Features

Football and Soccer

Homepage

Juventus

Manchester United FC

Mobile App Stories

Other Major Clubs

Premier League

Real Madrid

Serie A

Southampton FC

Top Ten Lists

Tottenham FC

Transfer Rumours

Valencia

manchester united fc

Real Madrid CF

Ten big summer transfer targets for the new Manchester United manager.

Check in to Borussia Dortmund vs Bayern Munich - 2013 UEFA Champions League Final

10. Adil Rami (Valencia)

With Nemanja Vidic struggling so badly with injuries over the last couple of seasons, a new centre-back is a priority for David Moyes in this summer's transfer window. Despite Manchester United winning the title fairly convincingly this season, they conceded a surprisingly high 43 goals, the worst defensive record in the top four, and one of the leakiest defences to ever win the Premier League title. With Rio Ferdinand ageing as well, a long-term solution is needed for this problem, and Adil Rami of Valencia seems a likely target. The Frenchman, 27, is one of the most consistent centre-backs in La Liga, and is also wanted by Arsenal.

He could be available for under £10million, which would be a bargain, and is keen to seal a move to a bigger club to enhance his chances of getting into the French national team in time for next summer's World Cup. Phil Jagielka from Moyes' old club Everton has also been linked, but Rami is younger and arguably better, and would surely be available for cheaper.

9. Leighton Baines (Everton)

Everton are understandably keen to hold on to their star players this summer, with David Moyes likely to want to bring them with him to Old Trafford. Leighton Baines is apparently a top target for the new United boss, and it's not surprising given his fine form this season. The talented left-back has been linked with the club before, and his stock has only risen this year after one of his best seasons in the Premier League. The 28-year-old has a highly impressive five goals and five assists from defence, and is always a threat with his runs down the left-hand side, and his ability to pick out team-mates with a cross.

He would certainly be expensive, but would represent a big improvement on Patrice Evra, whose best days at United look behind him. If Baines has a weakness it is his defensive game, but as United tend to do most of the attacking in most of their games, this might not be such a problem for him if he moves to the Premier League champions.

8. Ezequiel Garay (Benfica)

Sir Alex Ferguson tracked former Real Madrid defender Garay for the best part of a year before he retired from his Old Trafford post and David Moyes will no doubt be similarly keen to beef up a defence that was shaky at times this season and has injury concerns over Nemanja Vidic and clearly can not count on veteran Rio Ferdinand in the long term.

The 26 year old has been in fine form this season but was unable to steer his Lisbon based side to a major trophy success, losing the Primeira Liga title on the last day of the season and failing to overcome Chelsea in a heart breaking Europa League final loss that could well lead the Argentine to be all the more keen on a possible high-profile move to Old Trafford.

Though Moyes can call upon younger defensive options like Phil Jones and Chris Smalling, it's arguable that both England man are better suited to other roles than at centre-back.

Jonny Evans has matured into a very capable performer by Moyes could well see Garay as a sensible target to chase this summer.

7. Claudio Marchisio (Juventus)

Juventus midfielder Claudio Marchisio has emerged as a priority target for Manchester United this summer. With Paul Scholes announcing his retirement, and the likes of Michael Carrick and Anderson not looking like providing enough going forward, a move for the talented Italian international makes sense. A box-to-box player like this is clearly high on the agenda for Moyes, who has also been linked with Marchisio's Juventus team mate Arturo Vidal, though the Chilean says he is committed to the Italian giants.

Marchisio could still move though, and would cost around £30million to bring to England, after spending his entire career with Juve and being a key player in their consecutive Serie A title wins. The 27-year-old has 8 goals and 4 assists this season, showing he has everything in his locker to give United something a bit extra from the middle of the park. With Juve manager Antonio Conte also reportedly interested in United duo Nani and Javier Hernandez, some kind of swap deal could be on the cards.

6. Luke Shaw (Southampton)

If Everton hold firm and Moyes can't land Baines to solve his left-back problems, it is also being suggested that he could turn to in-demand Southampton youngster Luke Shaw. The 17-year-old has been in terrific form for the Saints this season in his first season as a first team player, showing himself to be one of the best young players in the country, and a bright English prospect. Coming from Southampton's youth system, he has inevitably drawn comparisons with Tottenham star Gareth Bale, who also started as an attacking full-back, and Shaw has shown great ability going forward, suggesting that he could move forward in the future.

Arsenal, Spurs and Chelsea have all shown a strong interest in Shaw, and manager Mauricio Pochettino has insisted that his star youngster won't be sold, but it would still be a move well worth pursuing for Moyes. United have a proud tradition of offering opportunities to young players, and could use that to persuade Shaw that his future lies at Old Trafford. With Patrice Evra on the wane, Shaw could even find himself a first team regular as soon as next season, and it would be a big boost for Moyes to beat his Premier League rivals to such a promising talent.

5. Marouane Fellaini (Everton)

Another David Moyes raid on Everton could come in the form of midfielder Marouane Fellaini. It has been something of a breakthrough season for the Belgian, who has been used in a more attacking role at Goodison Park, starting the season with a superb individual performance against Manchester United, in which he terrorised their defence throughout and scored the winning goal. The 25-year-old would give United some much-needed physicality in midfield or upfront, wherever Moyes chooses to play him.

Although a very different player from Paul Scholes, he could replace the United legend's goals and assists with his aerial presence, scoring goals or getting flick-ons from crosses and set pieces. Moyes certainly seems to know how to get the best out of him, and on his day he's a handful for any Premier League defence.

4. Nicolas Gaitan (Benfica)

With the likes of Nani, Ashley Young and Antonio Valencia all having disappointing seasons in terms of providing goals and assists from the flanks, a winger who can contribute more to United's attack is a must for David Moyes. Nicolas Gaitan has been linked with the club and would apparently welcome a move to the Premier League after an impressive few years with Portuguese side Benfica.

Since joining from Boca Juniors in his native Argentina, Gaitan has managed 17 goals and 38 assists in three seasons, and looks exactly like the kind of player United need. If Robin van Persie can score 30 goals without much help from his attacking midfielders and wingers, think how much he'll score next season if he's playing with a talent like Gaitan. At 25 years of age, United would be landing themselves a player approaching his peak, and he could be available for around £25million, which looks a decent price for the Argentine international.

3. Karim Benzema (Real Madrid)

With Wayne Rooney submitting a transfer request, David Moyes is apparently keen on bringing in Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema as a replacement. The talented French finisher was linked with Manchester United when he was a youngster at Lyon, and could now make the move to Old Trafford after falling down in the pecking order at the Berenebeu this season.

It's been a difficult year for Real Madrid, with struggles on and off the pitch, and Benzema has been one whose confidence has been hit and whose form has been affected. With a flurry of changes expected to take place in Madrid in this summer's transfer window, it is thought that the 25-year-old could be available for a reasonable price of around £30million. This would be an excellent signing for United, and a perfect complement to Robin van Persie's abilities. Benzema can play slightly behind the Dutchman or drift into wide areas, as well as take the pressure off their top scorer to get all their goals. Despite not hitting his best form this season, he has still managed an impressive record of 19 goals and 20 assists in all competitions - a vast improvement on most of United's attackers even if not at the top of his game.

2. Gareth Bale (Tottenham)

This would be an ambitious move, but Manchester United are apparently interested in competing with Real Madrid for Tottenham star Gareth Bale. It won't be easy to compete financially with the Spanish giants, who could offer as much as £70million for the Welshman, and Spurs manager Andre Villas-Boas would understandably rather sell Bale abroad than to a Premier League rival, and has vowed to make life very difficult for United to sign him. Still, if Moyes can pull it off he'll be landing United one of the best players in the world, who would fix their problems out wide and upfront in one go.

After earning a reputation as one of the game's most frightening wingers, Bale has arguably looked even better this season in a more central role behind the striker, scoring an impressive 26 goals in all competitions, many of them stunning individual efforts either from long range or after taking on numerous opposition defenders. He is undoubtedly a player who needs to be playing on the big stage, and there are few bigger than Old Trafford. And they need a player like him as well, to provide the wow factor that Wayne Rooney is currently unable to do. Moyes should definitely fight Real Madrid all the way for this one.

1. Cristiano Ronaldo (Real Madrid)

Rumours are hotting up that one of the most sensational transfer deals of the summer could be on, with Manchester United working to bring Cristiano Ronaldo back to Old Trafford after four years at Real Madrid. The Portuguese winger left United for a world record fee of £80million and has looked worth every penny at the Bernebeu, with a phenomenal record of 201 goals in 199 games for the club. However, he is reportedly unhappy in Spain after a difficult season and would welcome a return to his old club.

This signing would of course be more likely if Real Madrid do manage to beat United to the signing of Gareth Bale from Spurs, but I don't think many United fans will care if they can bring home one of their best players in recent years. The 28-year-old is now probably even better than he was when he left the club and would form a devastating partnership with Robin van Persie. He would certainly not come cheap, and PSG are reportedly willing to pay £84million for him to make him the world's most expensive ever player again, but it is said that United will offer £60million plus Nani and Javier Hernandez to push the deal through. Whatever it takes, Moyes would instantly make himself a favourite with the fans if he can pull off this fantastic transfer.

4.
