Real Madrid club president Fiorentino Perez has confirmed that they will be parting company with manager Jose Mourinho at the end of this season, according to the Guardian.

The 50-year-old has had a difficult year with the Bernebeu club, failing to win a major trophy in a season for the first time in his career, and is widely tipped to be replaced by PSG boss Carlo Ancelotti.

Mourinho, meanwhile, will now be free to talk to Chelsea, as he seems likely to be heading back to Stamford Bridge after a six year absence, to replace departing interim manager Rafael Benitez.

Perez said: "We have decided to bring our relationship to an end at the end of the current season. The club and manager agree the timing is right to bring our relationship to an end.

Mourinho won two league titles in his time at Chelsea, but left the club in 2007 after falling out with owner Roman Abramovich, though the two now seem happy to work together again.

The North London side will pay a club record €29m (£24m) for the talented attacker and have already agreed personal terms with Jovetic on a four year contract that will see the Fiorentina man earn around £100k a week.

Moves to capture Jovetic are said to have been dependent on Arsenal clinching a Champions League berth, which Arsene Wenger's side secured on the final day of the season with a win at St James' Park courtesy of a Laurent Koscielny winner against Newcastle United.

Fiorentina's own hopes of a Champions League berth were scuppered by a late goal from Philippe Mexes for AC Milan, which saw the San Siro side beat lowly Siena, therefore leaving Vincenzo Montella's side in fourth spot.



The cost of missing out on a place in Europe's showpiece tournament may well also be a factor in Fiorentina's willingness to accept an offer for Jovetic and Montella already has a ready made replacement in the form of Italian international Giuseppe Rossi, who the club signed in January from Villarreal.

Juventus are ready to make their move for Manchester City striker Carlos Tevez according to The Mirror.

The Italian giants sealed the Serie A title this season but I keen to strengthen their squad as they look to re-establish themselves amongst the European elite.

Despite dominating Italian football over the last eighteen months, Juventus were blown out of the water by Bayern Munich in the Champions League quarter finals and the Italian side are keen to bring in some high profile names in order to prevent that happening in the future.

Juventus officials have reportedly identified Tevez as the man to fire them to glory. The Old Lady have already announced that Spanish striker Fernando Llorente will be joining the club once his contract with Atletico Bilbao expires in the coming weeks.

And Juventus are keen to pair Llorente with a top name forward. The club have been linked with Liverpool’s Luis Suarez in recent months but it appears likely that they will be priced out of a move for the Uruguayan striker.

Tevez on the other hand may be available at a lower cost as the striker has just one year remaining on his current deal with City.
