Premiership Manager Bet £12 Million In One Season. And Lost.

The FA are apparently investigating claims from a former employee of bookmakers Victor Chandler that several Premiership players and managers are betting on top-flight football.

Premiership rules forbid the managers putting money on any competition they’re involved, but with gambling being such a central part of footy it’s not a huge shock is it? No manager is stupid enough to bet against his own team, since the long term financial rewards of being a successful Premiership boss surely outweigh winning the odd accumulator.

What is shocking is the allegation that one unnamed Premiership manager placed bets totalling £12 Million in one season, and finished the year £415,000 out of pocket.

Any guesses as to who (allegedly)?
