Everybody Hates Steve

Hot on the heels of Massimo Maccarone (allegedly) basically calling ex-Middlesbrough and current England underachiever Steve McClaren a incompetant prat, Danny Mills thrown his hat into the ring with a few choice words of his own,

“Massimo said Steve was two-faced, and I can’t disagree with that,” said Mills in The Mirror.

“When I was coming to the end of my loan at Boro, he called me in three days before the end of the season and told me I was definitely part of his plans for the future.

“Three weeks later, he went away with England and I didn’t have a phone call from him for three months. By that time, it was too late.

“He’s a very good coach, but his man-management skills were very, very poor.”

We still don’t know why anyone would ever want to be England manager, but it’s probably not hard to find a few players with a grudge against even the best managers (*cough*Sir Alex*cough*).

Still, given how smug Stevie Mac tends to look in every single photo ever taken of him, we’re willing to give the two baldies the benefit of the doubt.
