Oh dear God no! Tell us it isn’t true! Just when we thought that our lives were clean and rumour free the pesky Berbabtov rumour has boomeranged back into our world, disgusting everyone at the COS penthouse with its rancid pong.
The Sun is reporting that Dimitar Berbatov could be packing his bags and leaving Spurs in January. And their ‘proof’ that a Berby transfer could happen in January? A pretty bloody tenuous one to be honest; the wise sages at The Sun are using this ambiguous Daniel Levy quote as their main piece of evidence:
“It’s always difficult talking about individual players when we’re coming up to a transfer window. I don’t expect any of our first-team players to be leaving in January and I very much hope they’ll be here in the summer. But the summer is a long way off and a lot can happen between now and then. No one person is bigger than the club. This is a team. I very much hope Dimitar will be here at the start of next season but I hope that for most of our players.”
If we didn’t know better we’d think that The Sun had lost its touch with a rancid transfer rumour like this, but we know in our heart of hearts that they have the most journalistic integrity of any newspaper in the known universe…
