Is Frederic Kanoute heading back to the English Premier League? Well, not at the moment but as Goal.com has reported, time could soon come flying towards us when we observe the Malian star weaving his magic in the Premiership and that too in a Tottenham Hotspur shirt.
Goal.com has quoted The Sun in reporting that Kanoute, who spent two years at White Hart Lane scoring just 21 goals in all competitions, is quite eager to return to the Premiership.
This is what the player said to the British tabloid:
I would like to play in the Premier League again one day – who knows? I had a good time there so why not? If the opportunity comes I’d look into it. At the moment I am happy in Spain but if Tottenham offer me a great opportunity then I would consider it. Let’s wait and see.
Well, Kanoute is not actually rippling across a come-and-get-me-plea but that he is interested in moving back to England does come as a good sign in Spurs manager Juande Ramos who worked with the striker at Sevilla. Kanoute has undergone a resurrection at Sevilla in La Liga where he is one of the most lethal strikers and at 30 doesn’t appear to be too concerned about his age.
So is Kanoute to head towards White Hart Lane this January? We all know that Ramos has told Jermaine Defoe to find another club and that he is searching for a striker. Could Ramos look towards his old club to help his new one?
