The Independent report that Manchester United have overtaken Arsenal in terms of turnover -and Manchester United chief exec David Gill smugly beamed:
“We knew full well that when we came out with our results that our revenues and profits would be in excess of theirs,”
United’s profits for last season were £59.6m (an increase of 93 %) on turnover of a whopping £245m (an increase of 21 %), thus giving Manchester United the crown of Britain’s richest clun. In September Arsenal proudly announced £51m profits on £200.8m turnover, but United have now climbed even higher.
So is this partial justification of the controversial Glazer family and their regime?
