Now this could be a mere flyer but it is worth it. A number of English Premier League clubs have been said to be interested in signing the out-of-favour Bayern Munich defender Daniel van Buyten this month after it emerged that the player is unhappy with the meager chances that he has been thrown at the Allianz Arena so far this season and is open to negotiations with other clubs.
Sky Sports has quoted the Daily Star Sunday in its report pertaining to the interest the Belgian international defender that has been sparked in top flight England. In an interview to the newspaper, the player’s agent Christophe Henrotay said:
Every English club outside the big four that needs a central defender has shown an interest in Daniel. Sunderland, Everton, Wigan, Tottenham and Fulham have all contacted me about him.
Should the 29-year old indeed move to the Premiership, then it wouldn’t be the first time that he has played in English football. Van Buyten played for Manchester City in 2004 as an on-loan player and should be a good buy for any club in the Premiership.
