Manchester United sign ‘Brazilian Neville brothers’

It’s not every day that a Premier League club sign identical twins. Especially Brazilian identical twins. Who are both full-backs. Yet The Times report that Manchester United have done exactly that, with Fabio and Rafael Silva set to grace the English game from August 2008.

“After eight visits to Manchester United, we will travel to come to live in England,” Fabio said. “In the last two years, we have visited many times. This time we are there for good.”

The 17-year-olds arrive from Fluminese for a joint £5.2 million fee – Sir Alex Ferguson was especially keen to take advantage of this fantastic ‘buy one get one free’ offer before the promotion expired in January. He is a Scot after all!
