Real Madrid still sniffing around Manchester United star

But are they wasting their time? The Daily Telegraph report that Real Madrid refuse to take ‘no but thank you very much for your polite enquiry’ for an answer as far as Cristiano Ronaldo is concerned, with the Spanish champions still working around the clock to snare the Portuguese forward from Old Trafford.

“Ronaldo is an exceptional footballer and, although we know signing a player like that is very complicated, we will just have to keep working on it,” Real’s sporting director Pedja Mijatovic said.

“If one day a chance opens up, then we will be there trying to sign him. He’d grace any team in the world.”

Sir Alex Ferguson has already laughed off claims that his star player is going anywhere this season, although Ronaldo has stated his desire to play in Spain at some stage of his career. Given that he’s only 21-years-old, Real could be waiting a long time for him to put pen to paper.
