Arsenal are arguably the best club in Europe for promising youngsters to play regular football but there is one talented teenager who is not too keen on towing the line. Sky Sports has reported that Torpedo Moscow defender Vyacheslav Dmitriev has denied that the Gunners have made an approach for him and refuses to accept that he has any knowledge of any interest in him from Arsene Wenger.
I haven’t signed a contract with Arsenal as some newspapers have wrote. If the interest is true, such a deal would only be possible anyway if the clubs have negotiated.
Torpedo president Alexandr Tukmatov adds:
Nobody from England has contacted us enquiring about Dmitriev.
However, it is only a matter of time before the highly rated 17-year old Russian defender is lured to one of the top clubs in western Europe. Torpedo Moscow would certainly like to hold onto the player until he proves his mettle in a bigger arena so that they can reap the maximum transfer fee possible by the inevitable transfer.
