Manchester City’s Rolando Bianchi is on his way out of the Premier League. Sky Sports reports that the 24-year old Italian striker has been loaned out to Lazio for the rest of the season with the Serie A team retaining an option to signhim on a permanent deal in the summer.
Bianchi, signed from Reggina in the summer, lasted just half a year in the Premier League and no City fan will be shedding tears at his departure. In 19 appearances, Bianchi has scored just four goals and has failed to carve out a regular place in the starting line-up.
Bianchi told the Lazio website:
”I had a couple of other very interesting offers but I chose Lazio for my future and because I wanted to be valued in a very great team. It was a choice that I thought about and thought about again so now I am sure that it is the right one and the future will prove it. First I will have the opportunity to play and, moreover, I will be happy. I was pleased to meet the other Lazio players. I have the impression that they’re a very united group, which is right when you want to build something solid for the present and the future.”
Bianchi is gone now and that implies that Sven-Goran Eriksson is short of a striker. City are desperate for a new hitman but with Bayern Munich’s Lukas Podolski looking unable to secure his proposed loan move, the Swede will have to come up with someone else pretty fast.
