Sam Allardyce might have been sacked by Newcastle United not too long ago but the former Bolton Wanderers boss has in no way lost the respect if the football community. The Shields Gazette has reported that Big Sam is a firm favorite to hold reigns of the Republic of Ireland national team.
The FAI is interested to sign Big Sam who had weaved wonders at the Reebok but failed to gain any control at St. James’ Park. The Irish team are without a national coach since last month when Steve Staunton was given the sack after a string of miserable performances.
How will Big Sam fare in international football? He might be a Bolton legend but would he able to hold the reigns of an international side. Not that Ireland are a great team but still you wonder…..
