It’s final now. Jermaine Defoe is staying at White Hart Lane. The Mirror has reported that the 25-year old England international striker will be given a new four year contract and wil be on £40,000 a week plus bonuses. The move is a massive U-turn after manager Juande Ramos said last night that Defoe wouldn’t feature in his plans for the rest of the seaon.
Whch effectively meant that Defoe was to find a new club should he have any intention to play any football. But now Spurs have undergone a change of heart. Technical director of the club, Damien Camolli, is said to be behind the Defoe stay.
So does this mean that Spurs would stop their search for a new striker? And will Defoe get more starts under Ramos in the rest of the season?
