Liverpool manager Rafael Benitez is busying sorting out the on-pitch problems these days. With his team lying fifth in the table with English Premier League title hopes withered into ashes, Rafa knows that he has to strengthen his team and eradicate its weaknesses.
And one such weakness that has only now come to the fore is the vulnerability of Liverpool in set-pieces. The latest team to exploit this defect in the Liverpool fabric was Havant and Waterlooville in the FA Cup fourth round on Saturday. Rafa is eager to alter the situation though and The Liverpool Daily Post quotes the gafferas saying:
We need to watch set pieces carefully because we were not conceding from them before, but we are now. We have some problems and we need to improve. We have some ideas on why it is happening but we need to work in training sessions and try to be as good as before.
At least this time, Rafa has to offer something about Liverpool’s on-pitch issues.
