Javier Mascherano wants to stay at Liverpool

The will-he-won’t-he circus pertaining to Liverpool’s midfielder Javier Mascherano appears to be drawing to a close. The Daily Telegraph has quoted the player as saying that he wants to stay at Liverpool and is eager to see a permanent deal between the club and his owner MSI struck as soon as possible.

The 23-year old Argentine international says:

It’s not finished yet but I am hoping to stay here. I have a lot of confidence that after the next week I will be able to say ‘everything is right and I am staying here in Liverpool. We now need to wait. We are very close but we need to talk again. I think everything will be okay. I’ve waited a long time, so I can wait one week more. The fans like me and I love the fans. They are great and that’s the reason I want to stay here.

The player then is confident of securing a permanent stay at Anfield by the end of this week and the club’ American co-owners too have decided to pay the money that MSI demand. All is good then but let us wait for the deal to be officially announced.
