Liverpool might just have to struggle against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge this weekend in the English Premier League. ESPN Soccernet reports that a confirmed hamstring injury to their best striker Fernando Torers has ruled him out of the match and even more cruelly for at least 10 days.
Torres sustained the injury during Wednesday’s international friendly between Spain and France and it was he who demanded his substitution during the match as he wanted to keep himself fit for the Reds’ clash with the Blues. But now Torres has been sidelined.
Now that Torres has been ruled out of the match, Liverpool manager Rafael Benitez must be searing with frustration. Torres has been one of the very few consistent players for Liverpool and is also the club’s highest goalscorer so far this season. He will be missed thoroughly on against Chelsea. Will Liverpool be able cope without their Spanish matador?
