Steve Bruce: We were better than Sunderland

Wigan Athletic’s 2-0 defeat to Sunderland at the Stadium of Light in the English Premier League on Saturday has pushed them to 16th place, just 1 point above safety whereas the Black Cats drive up to 14th and 4 points above safety. Wigan manager Steve Bruce is pretty much frsutrated at the defeat but refuses to believe that the Lactics were not the better team in the match.

Bruce says:

The one thing we try and pride ourselves on and work on is our organisation and we switched offYou can take defeat but sometimes it’s hard to swallow because, for me today, we were the better team. We haven’t took our chances and had a little bit of bad luck, we hit the post, the bar – you’re talking a matter of inches – and the goalkeeper’s produced a world-class save once or twice. You could say it wasn’t our day, we deserved something out of the game.

Now, now. We can understand your agony of losing 3 points, Mr. Bruce, but this time at least you have to acknowledge that Sunderland deserved the 3 points. After all, they took their chances while your men didn’t.
