Hughes frustrated by more injury problems

Blackburn Rovers haven’t had much mercy from the Injury Gods this season especially in their defensive department and their 2-0 defeat to Arsenal at the Emirates on Monday night was another nail to their foot. Manager Mark Hughes could only watch with quiet agony on his face as the Dutch defender Andre Ooijer had to be pulled off during the match.

Hughes of course doesn’t attempt to eclipse his frustration at the loss of the player who is anticipated to be out for at least 3 weeks. He says:

We hope it is not too bad with Andre, it is obviously going to take a couple of days before we know the full extent of the injury, I would imagine if it is the hamstring again then it is going to be a minimum of three to four weeks.

Worries piled upon worries for Hughes. Blackburn are still in the race for a top four finish in the English Premier League this season but the injury woes would do their cause no good whatsoever.
