The Daily Mail reports that Chelsea have been accused of luring scandalously young and outrageously talented Italian kiddie Vincenzo Camilleri to Stamford Bridge. Apparently several Chelsea big-wigs landed on Reggina’s training ground using Roman Abramovich’s chopper.
The highly rated Italian defender currently toddles around for Reggina – and at 15 years of age is yet to sign professional terms with the club, and all this naive ‘playing by the rules’ malarkey has allowed Chelsea to bluster in and nab Camilleri for a ‘nominal fee’ next month when he turns 16.
Reggina president Lillo Foti isn’t just going to sit around and twiddle his thumbs at this outrageous rule flouting – he is going to storm off to both UEFA and the Italian Football Federation and try and cause a massive stink. Foti rapped:
‘Chelsea began talks with the player at an illegal age, before he has turned 16. This goes against national and international rules.
‘Chelsea’s people, Frank Arnesen and Carlo Jacomuzzi, used Roman Abramovich’s helicopter to land in our training camp — an area out of their jurisdiction. They used power and money to plunder our player. A kid of his age ought to be protected from raids of this kind.’
Honestly Chelsea, have you no self respect?
