England national team coach Fabio Capello does know a thing or not about Italian football and about how Italian teams in European competitions and he is blaring the sound of caution to Liverpool for their return leg in the last 16 tie in the UEFA Champions League against reigning Italian champions Inter Milan.
Capello says that although Liverpool’s 2-0 lead from the first leg does appear quite healthy, Rafael Benitez’s men should in no way let complacency thread into their heads.
Liverpool must be very careful at the San Siro.
Inter are really strong at home. Even at Anfield they defended with order after (defender Marco) Materazzi’s sending off, conceding only a couple of chances.
They can reverse the result, although it shouldn’t be forgotten that Liverpool haven’t reached two finals in three years by chance.
Sound enough advice, but not that we don’t know about. Inter Milan are the only unbeaten team in the league anywhere in the Big Five European leagues and can damage Liverpool at home. On the other hand, a goal for Liverpool at the San Siro on February 11 would imply that Inter would have to score four times and that isn’t something that can be termed as even remotely easy.
