Since winning the Carling Cup final against Chelsea at Wembley, Tottenham Hotspur had gone derailed but their 4-0 battering of poor old West Ham United was some indicator that Spurs are back on track.
Spurs hammered the Hammers 4-0 at White Hart Lane in the Premiership on Sunday and their assistant manager Gus Poyet says that the win is an important morale booster for the players. Poyet says:
It was excellent. We started the game with two goals and then we did not risk too much when they went down to ten men.
We kept the ball well and of course we were still looking for the third goal.
It was a very good performance. I’m very happy.
We knew it would be difficult because of what happened to West Ham in the last couple of games, so it was important to start well.
They were two great headers, two great deliveries from Tom Huddlestone. And when you have a player like Berba you know you are going to get goals.
Spurs do not have much to play for in the Premiership this season but manager Juande Ramos would surely like his players to groove into the winning mentality so that they can raise the bar next season.
