Everton fans rejoice! One of your best players in the team has signed a new contract with the club!
Joleon Lescott arrived to Goodison Park from Wolverhampton Wanderers in the summer of 2006 and has proved to be one of the most relible players for manager David Moyes. He is already a full England international and has been a rock for Everton in central defence this season.
Lescott has signed a new three-and-a-year contract with the club and manager Daid Moyes is of course over the moon on this:
This is really terrific news for everyone connected with the club.
This continues our policy of securing – on long-term deals – those players who not only represent Everton’s present but also its future.
Since joining us Joleon has more than proved his worth and the fact he is not only happy at Goodison Park but also willing to commit his future to Everton shows that we are most definitely moving in the right direction.
Everton should be able to play in the UEFA Cup at least season and that European exposure should help LEscott to become a better player.
