A headline in The Sun today is the slightly mouth frothingly exaggerated “Wenger’s Arsenal war cry” with the Frenchman claiming that since the start of the season they have lost just one game – very true Arsene, but that isn’t taking into account the recent carousel of grim draws against lowly opposition that is slowly bleeding your Arsenal challenge dry.
Wenger’s effort is an obvious attempt to drag Arsenal’s morale back up again, but couldn’t an overly optimistic rant like the one in The Sun do more damage than good? The fact is that Arsenal have been shocking domestically of late, so to claim all is well, and the title will be makin its shiny way to the Emirates smacks of denial.
