This weekend all three teams fighting for the “glory” of fourth place simultaneously stalled, making the charge for the final Champions League spot look as exciting as beige corduroy.
Aston Villa somehow managed to lose to Sunderland, at home of all places (and Sunderland have rotten form away from the Stadium of Light). Elsewhere Liverpool did their best to avoid a 4th place finish by getting thoroughly taken apart by Man Utd, and Everton slunk yo a thoroughly unpalatable 1-1 draw at home to West Ham – a team playing only for pride.
All this begs the question: does anyone want to finish in fourth place?
