Having helped inflict some misery on Spurs during Newcastle’s 4-1 win at White Hart Lane it has now been reported that the England international is now a target for Juande Ramos should they lost Dimitar Berbatov in the summer.
Newcastle United striker Michael Owen is a top target for Tottenham. Spurs transfer supremo Damien Comolli and boss Juande Ramos both view Owen as a possible replacement for Dimitar Berbatov if the Bulgarian ace moves in the summer. (The Mirror)
Now there is no doubt that a few years back Michael Owen was one of the biggest talents on the planet and there is also no doubt that his career at club level is moving in the right direction, he is however probably one injury away from the end of his career and given his fragile state that injury could happen at seemingly any moment. Just ask Newcastle fans, he is after all averaging one goal for each of the £16m paid to Real Madrid 2 and a half years ago.
