Aston Villa lead the chase for Bayern Munich’s long-serving full-back Willy Sagnol (Daily Mail) The 31-year-old Frenchman is said to be keen on a move to the Premier League and is also being monitored by Juande Ramos as he looks for experienced heads in his back line. West Ham and Everton are also keeping tabs on Sagnol. It is believed that a fee of just £2m could secure his signature.
Sagnol, a Champions League winner, is a hugely talented customer who could do well in the Premier League. He is bound to have many admirers and his value could increase after Euro 2008. He can be useful both on the attack and in defence and has proven himself both in Germany and France where he has won league titles at both Monaco and Munich. Real quality and at that price, who can say no?
