Not for the first time, and probably not the last, Juande Ramos and Kevin Keegan are going head to head for talent to re-shape their squads to suit them as opposed to their predecessors in the hot seats. Letting the bidding begin!
Tottenham want Real Madrid midfielder Esteban Granero (Daily Mirror) but Newcastle boss Keegan also wants the £10m rated man, who is currently on loan at Getafe.
The 20-year-old Madrid-born talent is going to find it hard to break into Bernd Schuster’s reckoning at the Bernabeu, hence the possibility of him giving the Premier League a chance. Maybe he will decide that St James’ Park is the place to be as ‘King Kev’ plans his revolution or maybe he will prefer to move to London and see if Ramos can turn Tottenham’s fortunes in much the same way he did Sevilla’s? Either way, Granero looks an awesome prospect and well worth fighting over.
