I think this is another player who, should Tottenham find themselves with Dimitar Berbatov, be a fairly promising replacement for the Bulgarian. First they have to outbid Chelsea and that’s no easy matter.
Chelsea have set their sights on a £20m move for Valencia’s Spanish striker David Villa. (The Sun) but Juande Ramos is also a big fan of Spanish International and will hope that Tottenham can persuade Villa to move to White Hart Lane.
The 26 year old striker scores goals for fun and I guess many are seeing just how well his international strike partner Fernando Torres has adapted and think that David Villa can do likewise, which seems a fair assumption considering just how prolific he is in the La Liga. Can Spurs outbid Chelsea, who knows but given the relative instability at Stamford Bridge (who knows will be in charge come next season) Villa may prefer a move to north London rather than to the west.
