It seems that whenever Tottenham appear to be lining up a signing, at least according to the tabloid press, Chelsea invariably tail behind them ready to splash megabucks to get their man. First it was David Villa and now we have another La Liga based star.
Chelsea and Tottenham are back in the hunt for 25m rated Sevilla full-back Dani Alves after comments from the Brazilian suggested a move was very much back on the cards.
The 24-year-old said: “I want to improve as a player and if that means that I have to leave Sevilla then so be it.” (News of the World)
I love the excuse of wanting to ‘improve myself as a player’ that’s a neat and tidy way of saying that the club I currently play for isn’t big enough for me so I want out. Is he worth such a fee? Not in my opinion, will Chelsea pay that much, yes probably. I reckon Ramos is more likely to spend wisely rather than investing such a huge fee on one player.
