Rumours abound that a world-class player has appeared on the White Hart Lane radar. A player who has won it all – Champions League and even a World Cup!
Manchester United and Tottenham are waiting in the wings after it was rumoured that Rino Gattuso is weighing up his options at AC Milan (La Repubblica). The £8m rated Gattuso is apparently considering leaving at the end of this season and Newcastle United and Bayern Munich have also been said to be monitoring the 30-year-old as a potential signing.
Is it possible? After near on a decade at the San Siro it would seem possible that the Tasmanian Devil-like midfield terrier would look to leave a side who have struggled again in their domestic league and may not even get a Champions League berth next term. I guess Man United may be ahead of Juande Ramos in the queue but then Sir Alex has about half a dozen central midfielders of quality. How pleased would Tottenham fans be if they achieved such a highprofile signing?
Is it plausible? Does this rumour not hold water (although please note its source is noted and isn’t just a figment of this COS writer’s imagination). Could this be the kind of purchase that helps move the north London side up a notch?
