Events on the weekend involving Sevilla striker Luis Fabiano have started the whole “Berbatov replacement’ rumours off again! The troublesome Brazilian didn’t take well to beong subbed and has made comments since that seem to be the kind of chat that get a player left on the subs bench indefinitely!
Luis Fabiano has angrily reacted to his manager Manolo Jimenez’s decision to sub him at half-time against Mallorca.
Fabiano said: “I did not expect the substitution and I have been very surprised. I am going to speak with the coach because if he is going to replace me in future games I prefer to stay on the bench. Nobody likes to leave a game in progress.” (sportinglife.com)
His agent has since announced that Luis could seek a move away from Sevilla.
All of which has led Manchester United, Manchester City, Tottenham and Newcastle United to once again be linked to the 27-year-old striker (various)
I guess it must be a little odd when the top scorer in the Spanish league is hauled off at half-time but I guess overreacting won’t help his case. By all accounts Fabiano had his fair share of disagreements with Spurs coach Ramos during his reign at the Andalusia-based club.
Maybe this previous knowledge will be a help or a hindrance. Either way this guy is not in the same league as Dimitar and in my view is not a player who the White Hart Lane club should take a risk on.
