Ronaldo ‘angry with speculation’ linking him away from Manchester United

Perhaps he should have kept his mouth shut earlier this season and not revealed that he would like to play in Spain one day. While he probably meant very little with these comments, it was bound to add fuel to the fire as far as the gutter press are concerned. How ironic that the very rag that’s been leading the trash talk linking the Manchester United star with a move to Spain is now carrying quotes from Ronaldo dismissing them out of sight. Step forward The Sun.

He said: “I just don’t care what the whole world seems to want to say about me or speculate about my future.

“I’ve said it a thousand times and, by now, people should realise . . . I’m totally happy at United.

“I’m in the form of my life and I’m having the season of my career so far. So it makes me mad sometimes to read some of the things which are supposed to be related to my future.

“I get angry but I’m trying to accept it’s a waste of energy to be furious because it is not worth it.”

Part of the problem have also been Real Madrid, who have regularly thrown the cat amongst the pigeons at regular intervals this season, stating various levels of confidence in landing the forward, despite little evidence to back this up. Journalists aren’t stupid, they know what sells and it’s generally stories surrounding one of the greatest players in the world, plying his trade for England’s biggest club.
