Arsenal FIVE to leave? Surely not!

The media are having a field day today with speculation surrounding a mass exodus from Arsenal, and this time the list includes one or two newer names!

It has long been taken as read that Jens Lehmann and Gilberto Silva were more than likely to be heading for the exit but now three more players are attracting interest from Serie A giants.

Emmanuel Adebayor could also be on his way to Italy after the Arsenal striker was linked with AC Milan and Juventus. “Milan have looked at him and so have Juventus,” said the player’s agent Vincenzo Morabito. (The Independent) “He is a striker who has had a great season and is the right investment for the future.”

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger fears the Gunners could lose Alexander Hleb after the midfielder – who can buy out his contract for a knockdown fee – had a secret meeting with Inter Milan. (Daily Mirror)

Finally we have the ongoing contract saga involving industrious midfielder Mathieu Flamini and Juventus’s General Manager Jean-Claude Blanc admits they want to sign him.
Blanc said of the situation: “We must close negotiations with the player in accordance to our financial budget. We will have to assess what Flamini can bring to the project.
“AC Milan are also interested, but remember we can offer him Champions League football.” (La Stampa)

So it’s all happening at the Emirates. It seems a bit cheeky of Adebayor’s agent to speak out about which clubs are linked with his player, but kind of par for the course these days. Either way I doubt Emmanuel will be going anywhere seeing as Wenger has stood by him after an awkward first season and given him a great deal of respect this time around. And look at the results – 27 goals this season is a damn good return.

Arsenal fans will hope to God that Hleb and Flamini also remain and I am confident they will. The Flamster is probably just wisely trying to get the best possible contract and the Belarusian midfielder will surely resist a move elsewhere as he must see the potential that the Gunners have.

Are Arsenal fans worried about a mass exodus?
