We mentioned earlier this week that Alexander Hleb might have played his last match for Arsenal FC. His suspension for decking Graeme Murty means that the Belarussian is sidelined until the end of the season – giving him enough time to eat plenty of ice cream, pick up his Italian phrase book and pack his bags for the fashion capital of the world.
The Daily Telegraph report that Inter are indeed interested in signing the winger, who has blossomed into a world class player this season under the guidance of Arsene Wenger. Not that loyalty seemingly has anything to do with it if the rumours are correct about Hleb sneaking out of the team hotel when in Milan to speak with representatives of the Italian champions.
Mancini said: “I have already spoken (with president Massimo Moratti) about the players we would like to sign. We are interested in Hleb, (Gokhan) Inler and (Abdoulay) Konko.”
While Inter are in the hunt for Hleb, it’s Juventus who are looking to snatch Mathieu Flamini from the Gunners. Arsenal have proven that they can cope with the loss of key players, yet the exit of the midfield pair would still be a setback for the club.
