Tottenham on the brink of £5m capture: Great signing who should solve defensive problems!

Reports are suggesting that Juande Ramos is very close indeed to securing the signing of one of the top performers in the Premier League last season…and he’s a defender, just what Spurs need!
Richard Dunne is the first big name to head for the Manchester City exit door, with the defender on the brink of completing a £5million move to Tottenham.

Spurs have beaten off competition from Aston Villa and Portsmouth to land the City skipper.
Dunne, 28, has already held advanced talks with Tottenham officials and will move to White Hart Lane once he has passed a medical.

Richard Dunne was in inspired form for most of the last campaign but he, like many other Eastlands players, could be about to jump ship after Thaksin somewhat prematurely jumped the gun and sacked Sven, a decision that no one in the world other than the Thai owner can understand. Do City fans feel that all of Eriksson’s hard work will be swiftly undone by this potential exodus? Do Spurs fans like the idea of a Woody/Dunne centre back partnership?
