£12m Spurs pair wanted by United: ONE good, ONE average!

Newcastle United boss looks to Spurs to help build for next season’s European push, but does Juande really want to offload this pair?

Michael Dawson is a £4m target for Newcastle boss Kevin Keegan who also wants his Tottenham team-mate Aaron Lennon.
The defender is happy at Spurs but could be pushed down the pecking order if Juande Ramos gets in the men he wants, and Newcastle are firming up their interest.
Keegan will only sign young players this summer and both Dawson, 24, and Lennon, 21, have the added advantage of considerable Premier League experience.

Tottenham are looking to add even more quality signings this summer and Ramos seems keen to spring clean his own squad to help finance top-notch deals. Of the two here, I think letting Lennon go could be a mistake. Dawson definitely puts the effort in but is somewhat limited in terms of his ability and, whilst giving your heart and soul to the cause is a noble trait, his inability to offer anything other than a very basic level of defending is not really in keeping with the abilities one looks for now in a central defender.

Aaron on the other hand is a different kettle of fish, severely lacking in confidence last season but the ability, unlike with Michael, is there. Both could do a very solid job at St James’ Park but do Spurs fans want to see them both sold?
