PSG star “waiting” to complete £4m Boro move

French midfield prospect Didier Digard is a step away from becoming a Middlesbrough player. Reports suggest that the 21-year-old midfielder travelled to Teeside earlier this month to discuss a €5million (£3.9million) move, agreeing to play at the Riverside next season. The deal is now expected to be completed in the next 24 hours.

Having endured a terrible season in Paris, plagued by injury and a relegation battle, Digard is desperate to leave and is presumed to want a move to the Premiership, with Gareth Southgate leading the chase.

He told French newspaper Le Parisien:

I’m waiting for the deal to be finalised. Things should start moving on Monday or Tuesday, I think.

Digard only joined PSG last summer in a €2.5million deal from Le Havre, and was linked to Aston Villa and West Ham prior to moving to the Parc des Prince.
