Arsene Wenger has been busy looking for potential strikers, and one Euro 2008 talent is high up on his wishlist, even though this star has just had a medical at another club!
Arsenal have identified Real Mallorca striker Daniel Guiza as a replacement for Barcelona and AC Milan target Emmanuel Adebayor.
Guiza was top scorer in Spain last season with 27 goals and is on international duty in the European Championships.
Cashed strapped Mallorca, who are a takeover target for former Newcastle chairman Freddie Shepherd, are resigned to losing Guiza, 27, who has a £12m buy-out clause written into his contract and underwent a medical with Fenerbache last week, but the Turkish side are nervous the lack of further developments is down to interest from Arsene Wenger. Daniel Guiza’s career has had something of a steep incline in recent years, culminating in last season’s excellent exploits that led to his inclusion in the international set-up. Now he is looking for a fresh challenge, having taken Mallorca as far as they can feasibly go and he is hoping that Wenger’s interest will have risen to such a degree to lead to a possible move to the Premier League.
Now Arsene does tend to opt for players who are not household names, however Guiza at 27 is not the usual type of player the Frenchman goes for, but stranger things have happened. Having already seemingly snared Nasri will the Gunners boss make a move for this Spaniard, what do the fans think?
