Arsenal set to chase German flop and wantaway Blackburn striker: Only one is worth it!

If you believe every rumour out there (and honestly, who doesn’t?), then you’d be just the type of person that would enjoy this lovely bit of news coming from the Emirates.

The Daily Mail reports that Arsène Wenger is preparing for life without striker Emmanuel Adebayor — who is reportedly nearing a possible move to AC Milan — by targeting two strikers of opposite quality.

While I would imagine that most Arsenal supporters wouldn’t mind having Santa Cruz playing up front with Van Persie, the thought of Wenger bringing in Gomez is sure to make most cringe in fear. This isn’t to say that he isn’t a quality striker, but based on the speed and pace displayed by the current Arsenal squad, and Gomez’s poor display in Euro 2008, you’d have to believe that Santa Cruz would be the better option.

Would Arsenal supporters welcome a move for either Gomez or Santa Cruz? Or would you rather see the club chase another option to fill Adebayor’s role?
