Well according to this source Sir Alex is about to land the Tottenham striker he has been after for some time now!
Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson will take his spending to £56million this week by finally capturing Spurs striker Dimitar Berbatov.
Months of bargaining for the Bulgarian striker will pay off for Ferguson when he lands his target at last – just days after United broke the British transfer record with a £32million deal for Carlos Tevez’s permanent move to Old Trafford.
Now the Tevez deal is sorted, talks with Spurs about Berbatov are expected to reach a critical stage within the next 48 hours – with a deal expected by the end of the week.
That would allow Berbatov to link up with his new team-mates when the squad returns from the African pre-season tour.(Sunday Express)
The summer transfer window started badly for Man United with the threat of Cristiano Ronaldo’s departure to Madrid, however Fergie has managed to stave of that sale for the time being and has wasted no time securing the future of Carlos Tevez in a deal that must have surprised many considering the price tag for the Argentine striker. Now it seems Dimitar is soon to be leaving Tottenham a move that will make the clubs attack even more mouthwatering. If this deal is secured it is hard to see how any team can stop them from achieving the same level of success as last term. Do United fans think that Rooney/Ronaldo/Tevez and Berbatov can all successfully be used at the same time?
